its academic, the WBO did their level best to keep their champions away from the bigger world champions up to about 2004. Calzaghe was kept away from Jones when he was a SMW and to be fair Joe 'knew his limits so wouldn't fight Roy without being paid the crown ***els' by his own admission (Calzaghe para-quote). Noone is going to pay a holder of a non recognised title the crown ***els in a million years.

Kessler, his best ever opponent and highest achievement to date, preceeded that match, so to say he wasn't very close to prime is a lie. Either that, or Kessler was rather much crapper than fans say he was.

Bernard was 42, and has been on and off with each win sandwiched by defeats ever since. Obviously on the slide to all but an idiot observer who thinks being fortysomething is prime.

The greatest SMW of all time. He still ducked Ottke though.

I assume you're trolling but some of the excuses you come up with for Kessler getting bashed up lead me to believe that you might not be.

Calzaghe was not the bravest smw like Froch or Kessler, but he was damned skilled!

Haters blaming Joe for those stoppages smh.

He did duck johnson, dawson and pavlik. Even though he had beaten them all.

Would have been smoked by prime Roy, not so sure about Hopkins.

Better power than given credit for.

I found his style exciting and unique.

Joe vs. Sven would have been an interesting fight.

              Joe would win though.

I think it would have been dull as phuck, but boy would I have loved seeing Calzaghe put a licking on Ottke.

And on that note not much else really needs to be said.
