Haha not only are they fighting on different networks, they're fighting on different continents. Does anyone have hope this will ever get made? It's a joke now.

Yeah, Singapore and the Philippines are in the same Continent, but different countries. When speaking about Mayweather fighting in his own backyard, Mayweather has fought exclusively in Las Vegas, which is the city in which he lives. If Mayweather fought Pac in Idaho, Mayweather is still in his own backyard as it is still in the U.S.
I'm not sure if a fight would happen in Singapore, but it needs to happen in the most lucrative area possible. This would put boxing back on the map. I want to see more stars fight in Africa, Mexico, UK, Russia, ect. Especially if HBO or Showtime can pick it up. EPIX usually show fights in other countries, but I don't have EPIX and I usually have to create an account with them just so I can get the free trial and watch the fight.Comment

What does that have to do with Floyd vs Pacquiao in Singapore?
Again, obviously this fight aint happening anywhere but Vegas if it did ever happen, but a Chinese invester in a fight in Dubai has zero relevance here. Obviously Golden Boy/Top Rank, plus Showtime, etc would be involved not some small time promoter.Comment

That doesn't change the point tho, it's virtually pacs backyard. Every single person in the audience would be rooting for him.Comment

It's not his backyard though, thats my point. Im sure there are many places in the world where Pacquiao would be the overwhelmingly crowd favorite. Doesn't make it his backyard.
Probably 90% of the crowd was Ricky Hatton fans in Vegas when he fought Floyd that didn't make it Ricky's backyard.Comment

Ah man, from my understanding there's a lot of shady business ethics/practices in China, and there's a lot less protection from said practices. If the fight was in Singapore wouldn't you assume that Chinese investors would want to get a piece of that big money pie? Hey, if some small time Chinese investor pulled a fast one in Dubai you don't think the big time players in China wouldn't do the same thing in their backyard? What does that have to do with Floyd vs Pacquiao in Singapore?
