    1. Did Lou Del Valle drop Roy with a similar shot in his prime?

    2. Does Antonio Tarver punch a lot harder than Del Valle?

    3. Could Tarver have landed the same shot against the version Del Valle fought?

    4. Would Roy from the Del Valle fight have been knocked out from the punch?

(The answers here are all "yes" btw)

Tarver...first he asked Roy did he have any excuses then he iced him some 4 or 5 minutes later....man I couldn't stand Tarver for a while after that....but I got over it!!

Roy would have been better off staying at heavy and fighting old holyfield and tyson,,

both of those were huge blockbuster fights,,,, 20mil+ paydays for him,, never understood that,,,
much better to get ko'd by holy or tyson then tarver and johnson,,,, looks better on resume and more cash,,,,

The BALCO scandal broke shortly after his fight with Ruiz

Roy could have been Mason Dixon in "Rocky Balboa" if not for that loss.

Instead we got Tarver playing possibly the least convincing heavyweight champion in film history.

                Montell Griffin.

The way Montell angered Roy by mouthing off to him Ali-style, and then went to his knee while baiting Roy to hit him in order to secure the DQ victory over a 28 year old Jones. Genius!

True indeed. Was Roy implicated in the Balco scandal?
