It's a possibility. I just don't think Haymon will match Thurman and Broner this early in their careers.

Chaves was interm champ and thats the belt Thruman won so you're right. Maidana is #2 but i though he was mandatory and thats why the Maidana-Broner talk sounded so certain. Guess Broner doesn't have to fight him which is disappointing.

Broner abandoning the title would look like a chicken move avoiding tough competition. I think he'd settle for Maidana. I don't see Thurman vs Broner happening.

Scared Chino? LOL. I'm pretty sure GBP is already planning Maidana - Thurman for Broner's vacant belt. Anyway, if Chino wins Thurman will turn out to be a bum for all of you.

Then why did he pull out of a fight with a prospect claiming he needed a tune up? He also ducked Bradley, im not sure why Marcos being a ducker is shocking people

LOL. How is this not a duck? If Floyd or Broner said this they would be crucified:

“We told Golden Boy that we didn’t want the fight. We want a tuneup. Is that a tuneup? All big name fighters take tune ups. And when they do tuneups, do they do them against a 17-0 opponent with 16 knockouts and a super welterweight?” asked Contursi as he referred to the 5’11 Thurman.

BoxingScene.com ran a story on Saturday where hard hitting Marcos Maidana’s fight with Keith Thurman, which was rumored to have fallen apart, was still being negotiated between Golden Boy Promotions and Maidana’s manager Sebastian Contursi. While Contursi and Golden Boy are indeed still in negotiations, it’s not for a possible Thurman fight for Maidana. Rather they are negotiating to find a replacement opponent for the Argentina native.

he came from a loss and was for a couple of months with his new trainer, what you expect? Probably the journeyman on your sig is asking for a tune up now, who knows?

My understanding is Thurman is mandatory to Bradley's title. According to Rafael GBP and TR did a deal for Vanes-Lara last year so I think the sanctioning body should organise it.

Also, Bradley's contract might well be up with Top Rank.

No one in Maidanas situation would have fought Thurman. Coming off a loss, or being at the top of the division. Thurman was barely contender status and completely unknown.

LMAO. Devon Alexander fought Lucas ****ing Matthysse coming off of a loss.
