Again I saw him after the fight and he was in good spirits. He didn't seemed out of it, or badly damaged at all.

In fact he was smiling and shaking a lot of the fans hands. He got a lot of cheers and praise from the fans, after the fight, for the effort and performance he put up (which was a great thing to see).

      Awesome.

Completely jealous that you got to see that fight live, too. That's one of those ones people will be talking about for years and years to come.

That's kind of what I mean. I don't think he really felt the impact or the results of those punches immediately afterward. I takes a while for the soreness to take root and inflame. I was never a boxer but I participated in sports, football and marathon running. It was always the next day that you really felt the pain. Not immediately after the event when the adrenalin was still flowing.

I remember Leonard talking about how he felt after his first fight with Duran. The next day is the worst. not 20 mins after the fight.

Yeah I see what you mean. I can definitely see him hurting the next day or so

Arakawa took a beating and atleast knew where he was. Thurman scored a ko and thought he was in San Diego. Maybe that's just a indictment of the public schools in America.

There was definitely cause for concern because Arakawa took a lot of punishment. But there was nothing the ref could do in that situation. The responsibility falls in the corner at that point.
The fight reminded me if Mancini ve Kim. They were both lightweights and it was fought at a similar pace, a all out war from the 1st round until the 14th. Kim was a bigger puncher than Arakawa though but it was a great fight that ened tragically. I hope Arakawa is alright, he looked ok in the interview. But the punishment he took was hellacious.

Yes he's a warrior and deserves credit but at some point ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. To go 12 rounds taking a serious beating like that is the type of punishment that could get you killed.

LOL...I was wondering why he got boo'd. I remember during his post fight interview people boo'd for a bit, and me and boy didn't know why.

The fighter should be praised for his courage and willingness to carry on!
The problem lies within the different "states" authorities who govern these events! Florida & Texas are running more events now and its time for them to get abit more up to date on the safety measures needed to protect fighters and too "protect the sport"!
That kid was out of the fight on points after the 7th round, and watching his punches he "isn't" stopping anyone to be able to have a come from behind win!!! The fighters must show valor and the commisions office must show discretion, its fine to acknowledge a warriors intend but you better take into consideration his well being too!!

He took far to many shots and if his opponent stood off him and set down on his punches he would have been KO's or atleast tko'd! Luckily both fell into the crowding mode and remained there because both fighters legs were gone early in the fight!

Both need a minimum of 4 months out of a gym and 6 months of boxing activities! Their insides have to be worse than their cosmetics!
Brave men for sure those commisions need to join the "leaque of safety for our warriors" or theres going to be problems!!!! Ray Corso
