Thats not Floyd's game, he ONLY fights inside for any length of time when his back is against the ropes. And you forget, Hearns was LIGHTNING fast with his jab and right hand. Faster than Judah who won rounds against Floyd, and Mosley who rocked Floyd and Faster than Corley who wobbled Floyd, not to mention much more devastating of a puncher than any of those guys. Your scenario does not add up.

Floyd did not fight Corrales inside in the middle of the ring, nor would he be able to fight outside against Hearns with Hearns reach and shoulder expanse. Not happening. Nill, nada, NO.Comment

Some other Duran notables:
BoxingIn*****: Roy Jones?
Roberto Duran: “He fought only guys he knew he would beat.”
BoxingIn*****: Most painful moment?
Roberto Duran: “The second fight with Ray Leonard in New Orleans. I had so many problems and quit that fight.”Comment

He did so with many fighters and on hbo. He wouldn't fight over seas with Calzaghe or Michalski but once he lost, he's fighting over seas with who ever calls his name...shame.
Roy and Floyd share similarites, the Alvarado fight at a legit weight might have changed that but it is what it is. Roy was a great fighter but he didn't accept challenges after some guys came along that maybe could have given him a tough fight.Comment

Corrales was a great fight, big balls type of fighter. But he could be out boxed if you were patient enough. People forget how easy Freitas was beating him but than he got tired and Corrales did his thing. I don't know why Mayweather fans like to bring up the Corrales and Gatti fight when talking about Mayweathers brillence because people already knew Floyd was fighting them at the right time and they fitted right into Floyds style. No disrespect to both Corrales and Gatti both great fighter if not one of the most toughest fighters in there decade.Comment

its a shame HBO couldnt make a corrales-gatti-hatton round robin tournament..
all those fights would have been stellarComment

how can you even imagine floyd fighting anyone of the fab four? he'll duck all of them. just look at his resume. there's nobody there that resembles anyone of the fab four. you can't name one.
that's how overrated the guy is.
so what duran says is nothing rocket scientific.
even a seven year old can figure it out.

I aggree. Bringing up Hatton reminds me how good he was. I think its a shame he doesn't get the credit he deserves. First saw him fight on Showtime followed him ever since, really good fighting style. He doesn't get enough credit for his fight with Mayweather. Prime Hatton was one tough s.o.b.Comment

i give him alot of respect for not fighting like a chicken vs floyd,, he made floyd earn that victory....
hatton had a short shelf life but he was great to watch in his prime, and would cause anybody trouble
