16 straws beat him , and the point is Floyd can beat the vast majority of them , you understand Floyd is not supposed to be able to hang in his era .

what era,,, the mid 80's to late 90's where most of his defeats happened,,

do you think a prime duran would lose to paz, lawlor, camacho, etc....

What happens when floyd overstays his career like jones and holyfield and gets a bunch of L's vs guys that couldnt touch floyd in his prime...

very unfair to use duran's losses against him....

Dude had like a 120+ fights,,

how many guys beat Duran at his prime weight in his first 75 bouts,, just dejesus, and leonard and duran has victories over both....

like i have said in this thread before,, floyd would still be a great fighter, but he not be undefeated, he would not be the face of boxing or the biggest draw,, he would be very much like benitez and alexis arguello,, a great defensive counter puncher,,,

You pick what ever era you like I was looking at Durans era as his career time frame , but ok lets concentrate on LW where both were prime , Floyd beats all of Durans LW opponents including Dejesus , but he cant hang in that era , that's just fantasy BS , of Durans 75 opponents 65 were average contenders , don't get lost in the numbers take a good look at who they are , its not always about the best fights but the whole lot in perspective .

It was a different time , no great will ever fight on 100 occasions again , those days are gone because the money is so high now , fighting bums every second week is the mainstay of the old legends and people get lost in the numbers .

I never said floyd would be a bum,, just that he wouldnt be that great in that era,,, and yes fighting every 2 weeks is a thing of the past, even if it is bums, the fights still take a toll on you,, thats why guys of that era are done by the early 30's,... and thats when duran took all the big fights against ATG in their prime at their weight.... Floyd wouldnt win any fights vs SRL, hearns, hagler,,, He would be lucky to even last vs hagler and duran went 15 rounds with him and SRL in slugfests, when duran was past his prime,,
Head to head Duran would bully floyd just like JLC, oscar, cotto did,, but duran is way better than all those cats,, he beats floyd down the stretch...
People act like floyd is some unhittable defender yet i have seen Castillo, augustus, ndou, chop-chop, zab, oscar, hatton, shane, cotto all land on him, and none of those guys were prime ATG's....

Maybe if floyd had fought the big fights, he wouldnt get so much heat, but you cant change history,,,,, floyd had his chance to have an ATG resume but he "retired" and never fought another prime great in his entire career,,, pretty sad

Floyd's career is defined by the disappointment of his match-ups in an era of multiple champions. Duran went through a murderer's row of top challengers and champions.

Do you even know how old Duran was when he fought Camacho, Lawlor, and Paz????!!!!!!! And the Duran that fought in 1980 Montreal would have killed De Jesus and Prime Duran would send Jose Luis Castillo to the hospital!! The same guy Floyd barely beat.
