Berto, although he injured his shoulder, has too much ability to be getting beat up like that. The problem with him is he just isn't an intelligent fighter and he was never taught how to defend himself at a young age. He was fed bums early in his career who he dominated, so he never developed his skills for the next level. Now that he's on a world class level, he is struggling. At this stage of his career, he will never change. As soon as he gets hit, he will resort to those same old bad habits. I feel sorry for the guy, so much talent yet so limited.

Berto's done, he's starting to look and sound like Meldrick Taylor. Berto doesn't have any defense or a chin so it's time to hang'em up. This sport can do without another punch drunk fighter.

Did he deserve to get an eight count? Hell yes he earned it, but I'm glad the ref had enough common sense and stopped it. Berto did not need to take any additional punishment for his on good. Never understood why he gets so much hate. He comes to fight and always puts on a good show. I was surprised how quickly he gassed out, but he kept fighting. Wouldn't mind seeing him retire for the sake of his own health as I hate seeing fighters get retired by taking so much punishment and fighting for peanuts

Terrible stoppage. It's the 12th round and you are dealing with a former 2 time world champion. To wave him out at the count of 4.5. Come on, at least give the guy an 8 count before you make up your mind.

I totally agree. Berto is the product of a mismanaged career. He should have fought Cotto by the time he as 24 years old and peaking.

I personally would like to see a rematch. I think had he not hurt his right shoulder in the 4th that he would have KO'd JSK.
