      Good point!
With that chin he has (plus his skills), Thurman would be a perfect test for Matthyse's style... On another hand, Danny also makes a perfect test...

I'd love to see Chavez again as well, although I am surprised the ref gave him a second 10 count because the fight was clearly over.. Now all Thurman has to do is build his resume and keep winning..

This is a great night for boxing! KO Kings is living up to the hype so far!
Thurman did an impressive job... Good chin, good skills and patience... They paid off eventually.

Keith Thurman's performance was excellent last night, a really tough fight and he came out on top like I thought he would.
Someone give that man a world title shot he more than deserve it!

The GBP card in "San Diego" was one of the most solid show I've seen recently...

(Don't laugh about Zou Shiming -- he's Arum's "biggest star in the East"... All the others (Pacman included) are just fodder for the masses...)

Good fight but I think it showed that Thurman isn't ready for the best just yet. He needs to get more experience against solid opponents. Get him in with Malignaggi or Senchencko, maybe even Soto Karass.

Personally I'd love to see Thurman vs Brook in a battle to see who can join the top tier.

While both have things to work on I'd say both have the potential to become big names in boxing. It was Chaves first lost, it was Thurman hardest test so far as I knew it would be, nice borken nose and all. While Thurman has Al Haymon I'm sorry to see what crap of a corner Chaves has. Those of you that know Spanish probably heard it "Boludo, pelea" meaning "******* fight" and the likes of that isnt exaclty valuable corner talk, and I'm sure his training was inferior too.
Thurman is clealry doing very well, he adapted well, now if we could put Chaves under Robert Garcia or some other good trainer in USA the kid has a ton of potential.

I think Thurman is ready maybe not for the top guys, but a hyped big name like Broner that isnt much of a fighter. With the speed, power and resistance Thurman showed against Cahves I'm 90% sure he eats Broner for breakfast.

I'm glad to see that Chaves is more like Maidana/Matthysse and less like Saldivia. Thurman had to reach into his skill-set, fought a crafty fight and got the KO he wanted. Now he's in line for a title shot, so Broner/Maidana better beware.
Thurman didn't go for the KO -- he had an easy UD in his hands...
                  (Broner beats Thurman anytime...)

That was a very entertaining fight. Great match making by GBP. I was truly inpressed with Thurman's ability to compose himself after realizing if he didn't adjust he'd be in trouble. He boxed and moved fairly well. Good win for sure. Soto-Karass, Berto or Khan would be really good match ups for him.

Chavez proved to be a good fighter as well. But he showed a weakness vs guys that can move and adjust to him. Berto, or maybe Ortiz would be a good scrap for this cat.
