I see Bat is still running away, not providing a list and refusing to back up his lies. Pansy!
Can you be considered an ATG when these are your 10 best wins?

LOL bollocks lad. As a neutral reading this thread, you and your arguments have been crushed by Owned, LacedUp, JAB and House of Stone repeatedly, much like Vitali does to his opponents ironically and now you're denying to being a fan? LOL you've spent the better part of the last 8 odd pages defending him vociferously.Comment

[QUOTE=JAB5239;13642129]byrd makes most guys look bad.particulary a prime byrd.he was a great defensive fighter, but realistically, prepared or not he had 0 chance of winning that fight.byrd was throwing like 16 punches a round.just like byrd only had a a week,so did vits.if a guy says he is injured.i give him the benefit of the doubt
The point of a rematch was Vits quit. Sure he was up on the cards, and rightfully so. But when you look a little closer it isn't so clear cut. Vits landed 8 more punches the entire fight and his connect % was almost twice as low as Byrds and lower than it had ever been before or after. On top of that Byrd took the fight on a weeks notice and flew to Germany. Its easy to turn a blind eye to FACTS you don't want to see. But when you look at them objectively the picture changes.Comment

[QUOTE=r.burgundy;13642368]You don't get it. Whether he was throwing 16 punches or 160 punches a round he still was only out landed by 8 punches. He had also been backing Vits up since the 2nd round. With the proper time to prepare for a 6'8" 245lb fighter Byrd has a chance to make him look even worse and win again. Not that I would bet on him winning, but under these circumstances and the fact Vits quit, a rematch was in order.

[QUOTE=JAB5239;13642418]you still dont get it.wether he connected at a higher rate,or threw more punches, bottom line is he got outlanded.most of byrds best shots werent even clean, they were just wild lunges

with the proper time to prepare for a smaller, slick defensive fighter vit would have a chance to dominate him again.absolutely nobody called for a rematch.not larry merchant, not byrd, not anybodyComment

[QUOTE=r.burgundy;13642689]Really? What do you think the German fans would have thought about a rematch since they were cheering for Byrd after the quittage? And no, Merchant did not call for a rematch, but was disgusted by Vits quitting. Either way, both Byrd and Vits were ranked next or close to one another the next several years. Don't you think it makes more sense to fight him than Hoffman, Norris, Puritty and Donald, who weren't highly ranked? It again all boils down to a weak resume and choosing to face the softer touches.

[QUOTE=JAB5239;13642831]byrd fought wladimir his very next fight and vits took a 4 year hiatus.why would he fight byrd again right after he just lost.realistically, when could this fight have happened?when vits came back in 04 byrd was just about on his way out

because he lost to him. If you lose to someone it demands a rematch, its what real champions do.
so its chris byrds fault that Vitali took 4 years out to get over his embarrassing loss to a MW? Vitali lost to him, so the onus was on Vitali to get back in the ring with him. He failed to do so. He hid in fear from a guy five divisions below him.realistically, when could this fight have happened?when vits came back in 04 byrd was just about on his way outLast edited by DreamFighter; 08-13-2013, 07:57 AM.Comment
