  • [QUOTE=Caestus;13582336]That's is your opinion BugDunn, obviosly there is a debate...In opinion of many including me, GGG is the best current MW champ, it's not a question of titles, is what you see on the ring.As I said, time will confirmate this.People now want to see Mayweather against Golovkin, not Martínez. And about Floyd fight GGG at 154 not qualifying, I don't know about what qualifiyng we are talking, only thing I know is it would be a great thing for Floyd reputation winning or losing, because Golovkin is obviously a very dificult fight, a really tought challenge, a great name and will be greater with time.QUOTE]

If its not a question of titles- Sergio's resume is far superior to GGG's. You would be basing it on GGG KOing Macklin and Sergio UDing him? That's not a valid argument. If you like GGG cool. But to say he is the best MW in the world seems to be agenda driven not subjective.

To say the lineal WW champ is ducking the 2nd or 3rd best MW in the world really is stretching. Again, if you are asking him to fight a MW to validate what he said-Segio fits that bill, not GGG. Maybe GGG will be there in a few years as you say-he just isn't there now.

If you think GGG beats floyd thats fine. That said you have never seen GGG fight as a pro at 154. You are assuming he is the same guy. You also are vastly over rating the level of opposition he has fought.

All this proves is Mayweather's name obviously is carrying the sport.
He's smaller than Canelo fight night

      • GGG is too big and powerful. Of course he is not going to fight him. But people will claim he is ducking him in which who at 147 would fight GGG? I don't even think anyone at 154 would fight him. In Floyd's case, its just too big of a risk because of the weight and the power that GGG has. I doubt Floyd will fight at 154 again after this fight with Canelo unless they have a rematch. He most likely will drop the belts and finish his career at 147.

Gabe Rosado fought him, and passed on a CW offered to him. Ouma fought him. That's 2 154ers. Lots of people claim Ishida is also a SWW, I disagree though.

          • LOL @ Mayweather vs. Golovkin.

People don't seem to confident that Canelo can pull it off.

Did people ever think highly of Canelo's chances? I don't think so, though Floyd asking for a CW does give me pause.

The fights were at 160 or as you guys say "not at their best weight"

Doesn't matter, he hasn't conditioned his body to fight at 54 going on almost a decade. If Floyd whooped him at that weight, he would get critiqued for that very reason. Glovikn needs to unify at 160, and wait for guys like Canelo Lara Angulo, and Kirkland to move up to build his legacy, being over 30 looking a a fighter two weights below him reaching 40 is fools gold.

So it's even more of an advantage for GGG. With Floyd he's offering to drop way down to 154, so the SWW champ should be even less reluctant than those other SWWs that went up

yaaawwwwn! when you wrote to HBO and asked them if they would release GGG for a floyd fight, what did they say?

or did you figure that would be as pointless as this thread.
