This is a good, competitive HW matchup.

Tony Thompson is a durable, strong, fearless ring warrior who will fight anyone, anywhere.

Kubrat Pulev is a natural-born fighter, a strong former Olympian with very good technical skills.

Thompson is surely the sentimental favourite, but he'll lose big and that would be best for boxing. Pulev would then be the consensus challenger to Wlad.

Yes, you're right about that. The prospect of a Wlad-Thompson III bout is a bad fight for the division. Thompson hasn't shown us anything in the previous two fights that would indicate anything different.

I'm rooting for Pulev and think he's the slight favorite, his inactivity notwithstanding. I hope Pulev can give a dominate performance so that fans can get excited about him facing Klitschko

Tony Thompson vs Kubrat Pulev: Last Shot vs. First Shot!

This weekend heavyweight Tony Thompson is back in action against Kubrat Pulev in a final eliminator to face Wladimir Klitschko. Thompson aged 41 has hit the headlines in recent times following his back-to-back victories over British prospect David Price. Many believed that Price would walk through Thompson and that he was just a stepping stone

            Tony Thompson is damn heavy!

Tony Thompson weighed in at 119.7kg which is heaviest weight ever. Kubrat Pulev weighed in at 114.7kg. Thompson seems to be in good shape. I can assume that he will hit very hard at this weight.

I think Tony knows what he is doing. Pulev's speed is not dazzling. Thompson's style allows him to be not that fast. I think Thompson will k.o Pulev in the 6th.
