He didn't wave the fight off at 9. He called nine and only then did Scott start getting up. The official rules might say ref's say 10 then wave it. But you see all the time refs waving the fight off at 10, its not unusual. What difference does it make anyway if you say 10 and because you've said 10 start waving, or just wave on what is 10, none. When the ref reached what was his 10 and waved the fight off was Scott in a position to continue? No.

Scott did NOT beat the count, he was not standing at 10, he was standing at 11.

Rules are rules and it was a fair stoppage

He says 9 and waves it off before 10. At the pace he was counting Scott was on his feet and standing up straight before 10. The only reason Scott timed it so fine was that he was so lucid. This is boxing being boxing. A good American heavyweight loses his 0 because he was so lucid he timed a knee rest after a pushing knockdown that barely hurt him to 9.25 seconds.

I really don't get this waaa he ref didn't say 10, you see it literally all the time, its so common for a ref to count a guy to 9 and then instead of say 10 symbolise it with his arms.

and yes the video shows clearly, ref says 9, Scott not particularly urgently stands up and as the ref gets to the end of the count by waving his arms scott isn't ready to continue, the only legit complaint Scott could have is that the waving arms happens slightly faster than the gap between the other numbers. But thats making a mountain out of a molehill. If Scott had wanted to continue and done what every other boxer knows to do and get up from a knee on 8 he'd have been allowed to continue.

I have a feeling I'm wasting my time though if you actually believe he stayed down that long because he was lucid.

It wasnt 9 wave it was 9wave all in one motion. Thus at his pace there was no 10th second. It was a 9 count if there ever was one. And if you really look Scott was in a crouch instead of a knee. I think the mistake he made was that he knew he could get up quickly in one motion sense he was on two feet. The ref got to 9 and he is thinking there is no way this big dude can get up in one second-waved without a tenth second.

People are suggesting the 'good American HW' wasn't losing? Scott had nothing to offer.

He has zero power and he was starting to get bullied around the ring, he was not escaping anymore either, Chisora was pushing him to the ropes and ****ing to the body and Scott was doing nothing in reply.

He was losing, got knocked down and took a way out that allowed for excuses to be made. Nothing but another protected HW who couldn't cope at 'contender' level.

If you think the ref/timekeeper thought Scott was down for 5 when he started the count you've got some issues!
