Lennox Lewis stated that Mike Tyson would have never been able to beat him. Agree?

But on that night Tyson wasnt at his peak and that wasnt vintage Tyson of course. THe same could be said if Rahman can put LL to sleep with one punch as can McCall, do the maths that way.

What do you make of this?
Lennox sound like he's boasting but he's right...I agree, he'd beat the best Mike Tyson imo....not the Tyson who fought Buster and the dudes afterwards.....Lennox would've beaten the Tyson that trucked Spinks imo.....I've always said this though....Lennox is the BEST HW of his era and should be a top 10 ATG HW on every respectable list!!!

Tyson would have been favourite. Peak against peak, Tyson would probably have the edge, even though LL will go down as greater.
Its just Tyson at his peak just didnt last that long. But Tyrell Biggs fougth both and he thinks Tyson was the best fighter he fought.
yeah, but that was against a very very green Lewis and against a prime Tyson. The best person to speak to about these things would either be Frank Bruno or Evander Holyfield. I'm thinking Bruno would probably pick Tyson whereas Evander would no doubt pick Lewis.

I actually stand corrected. Evander picked Tyson to KO Lewis in 2002. Interesting... Go to 49 minutes.

I'm not beat. Neither Holy or Lennox beat Tyson in their prime imo. You can talk about the Buster fight. I'll talk about the McCall, Moorer, Rahman, Ruiz and Bowe fights.

Tyson did have issues with taller fighters but pre prison i think he would've ko'd Lewis.

Say they fight 5 times i got iron mike winning 3/5

yup. he probably didn't realize Tyson was even further shot then when he fought him. Tysons speed and combos were clearly better in both holyfield fights than when he fought lewis. he looked very slow and sluggish by the time lewis got him

Prime Lewis just had too much size/skill advantage over Prime Tyson. I can't see Tyson beating him in his prime, he just wouldn't be able to land enough clean bombs on Lewis to stop him. But the fight would go the full distance instead of Tyson being KOd. It would probably be something like 116-112 Lewis.

I don't think anyone is questioning that tbh, but it's still funny to see how a lot of the 'experts' were actually giving Tyson a good shot. But after Lewis completely destroyed him, everyone is saying Tyson was shot to shiz. I don't think that's completely fair, even though it's probably true.

yea,,,alot of people were giving Tyson a good shot. I so wish holy and lennox could have fought him prime for prime. they would have made for some awesome fights and we wouldn't be having these debates. seems like everyone is split on it
