Lennox Lewis stated that Mike Tyson would have never been able to beat him. Agree?

I tend to agree. It was Holyfield who had Tysons number, not Lewis. But Lewis always had the style to beat Tyson. Strong jab, fights tall, very hard right, can fight on the outside. He frustrates Tyson no matter when they would fight. But no one in their right mind can sit there and say that Tyson ala 85-88 wouldn't have a chance against Any Lewis. Because he would.

Can you imagine if prime holyfield got into a brawl with prime tyson like he did against bowe in their first fight!

I've imagined it time and time again. But no matter what, Holyfield always wins in my mind.

Hnolyfield is faster than Tyson and has no fear. He negates Tyson's punches by punching with him...and beating him to the punch! Lewis's power was just too much for Holyfield and Holyfield's punches did not bother Lewis. Tyson's punches would bother Lewis and he'd never be able to get his long punches off.
I like this post. I believe too it is a ali-frazier-foreman triangle. Tyson murks Lewis on their best day. Holyfield is too good inside to be bullied by tyson. Evander vs Lewis prime for prime could be close. Evander with more speed in his youth and a higher work rate I think would make a fight out of it.

Exactly. Tyson had that bully mentality, it takes the real deal to beat him. Oh sjit, a pun came out of that.

Lets be real here though, Tyson was favorite both times against Evander, but Evander just didn't give a ***. He knew that when someone stood up to Tyson he would crumble. But I've always thought that Tyson was way better technically. Tyson under Cus or Rooney has a chance against pretty much all heavies in history, but damn Evander just had his number.

The fact that Lewis would go there at this point says everything. He wouldn't have dared try and speak that way a few years back. He realizes history has not been kind to Tyson. He wouldn't need to say it if it was true.

All great fighters say they could have beaten anyone. It's nothing new.

And also, it's not like Lennox called up a journalist and started talking about Tyson. When you are asked something, you speak your mind.
