Maidana is the same old fighter, it's just that he's not struggling to make 140 anymore. He's in shape using the jab more because he's in shape. Maidana was always a decent boxer imo.

Just because one fighter is stronger than another, and they both fight the same opponent doesn't mean the stronger of the two has to KO the common opponent.
It's boxing, he isn't going to just stand there, just like even a feather fisted fighter has the classic "punchers chance", not even considering stylistic matching. Maidanas style was tailormade for broner, before Garcia transformed him into a more complete fighter, a small fact people keep trying to ignore.
Broners defense isn't terrible, but it's not that great either, or Paulie wouldn't have been touching up his body almost at will. If he tries to outmaneuver Maidana he will get caught, if he goes toe to toe he will lose, if he boxes him he may hurt Marcos but Marcos' shots will do more damage per hit and if it goes into the late rounds Broner will be forced to back pedal into survivial mode and try to reach the cards.
No man, Maidana can't compete with Broner at close quarters, it's like your livin' in a fantasy world. He doesn't have to box Maidana, why should the supeior infighter, the quicker handed, better technical fighter move? There is absolutely no reason for that.
What Garcia did was shorten Maidana's punches, though old tendencies due tend to come back and Garcia has got him to jab more. Still, nothing difficult for Broner to defend against or smother.Comment

Because it's true, you make it sound like the opponent is not a factor. Triangle theories don't work in boxing anyway, the fact that he didn't stop him doesn't necessarily reflect a lack of power, there are more variables than that.Comment

Maybe, maybe not, my money is on the fact that he will move, why? Because the severity of Maidanas shots will force him to. I think you're the one living in a fantasy world if you think Maidana can't.No man, Maidana can't compete with Broner at close quarters, it's like your livin' in a fantasy world. And broner being superior is your opinion, I disagree, and hope Maidana proves me right on fight night.

That's not even debatable, it seems you have no idea what your watching then. Broner knows how to sit in the pocket, mix up his attack to the head and body with good short compact punches, all while being defensively responsible. Maidana on the other hand is a mid range puncher who isn't afraid to let loose in close, that doesn't make him a good infighter. Maidana's bread and butter is that overhand right he shoots from mid range, so again...why the fuck does Broner need to move? Your not making any sense.Maybe, maybe not, my money is on the fact that he will move, why? Because the severity of Maidanas shots will force him to. We can just agree to disagree then, and revisit this on fight night. If he doesn't need to move then he won't, he will win and from the inside. We will see. I've already explained how I see it happening. I don't need to make personal attacks or assumptions of your boxing knowledge, we can disagree without telling each other we don't know what we are watching. That's not even debatable, it seems you have no idea what your watching then. What do you mean? If we agree on something then we agree on something, my stance hasn't changed on anything at all.Comment

The fight does need to happen, there are two camps of thought here, and one will be proven right. One thinks Broner is too skilled and a class above Maidana, the other thinks Maidana has developed enough tools to box him and stop him. Either way, we will see how it develops on fight night.
I will be here ready to admit I was wrong if EL CHINO gets sonned, but until then, it's war maidana!Comment
