Johnson is not a power puncher.. I don't even think he was a average puncher. I feel like Johnson got below average power at 175 and the shot he hit Roy with didn't look that hard. Yet Roy was out for at least 5 minutes and looked like he was in serious pain. Don't start with that 'glass jaw' ****.. because I doubt that's the case.
Can someone explain to me how Roy Jones went down so hard against Glen Johnson?

Roy Jones just wasn't used to getting hit at all, Johnson caught him with a great shot that shocked his system. He was one of the most elusive fighters in his prime because of his amazing footwork, so he just wasnt accustomed to taking punches.Comment

I think Roy was tired and running out of gas from what was a hard fight. Johnson wasn't a huge puncher but his shots were always solid and having him come at you when he was at his best was tough on someone coming off of a KO loss and still struggling to find a way to adapt his style to suit his diminishing abilities. He was getting broken down in that fight for several rounds.
He most likely stayed down that long because of the way his head hit the canvas.Comment

I think the punch did drop him, but if you look closely his head bounced off the canvas so I assume that he hit the canvas so hard it knocked him out cold, the punch just drop him. his head looks like it bounced a few times too.Johnson is not a power puncher.. Its obvious why he went down the right hand he took was behind the ear he didnt sleep because his head hit the canvas roy was out on the way down.If you know anything about roy jones its very clear dropping 25lbs of pure muscle to get back down to light heavy had serious effects on the mans body.Roy jones looked like a junkie in that first fight with tarver take a close look at the mans frame notice his agility balance accuracy speed is all off in that fight and has stayed that way ever since.Neck muscles play a big part in your ability to take a punch i personally am convinced going up to heavyweight and coming back down to lightheavy had serious affects on roys whole body. Look at the clinton woods fight roy was roy amazing then he goes to HW John ruiz then comes back to LHW where he sc****s a win against tarver then rematch Tarver KOs roy then its Glen Johnson he KOs roy then Tarver again he loses UD.Anyone saying glass chin china head is just pure ignorant, theres obvious physical evidence in why roy jones declined so much.Johnson is not a power puncher.. The punch was a hard punch and Johnson hit him with hard punches moments ealier. Johnson can punch and it was a hard fast accurate blow that Johnson put all his weight and power into. The punch caught Jones flush on the button. That punch landing in the perfect spot would have KOed lots of guys in my opinion.Comment
