Then why did most morales fans predict that he would win the fight? In fact, most "experts" also predicted that morales would win. No one imagined that he would get pummeled by pacman the way he did. Pacman is becoming like a little Mike Tyson
Personally speaking, I just thought a past prime Morales would be enough to win the fight. You know, like the first time.

Kudos to Pacman for winning the fight of his life. He did show he's not as one-dimensional as some (myself included) thought he was.

Now on to Barrera - PacMan II, which definately should me made this year.

Being a ko artist doesnt make you a great 'fighter' overall.

Uh...yeah. But people are comparing Erik and Pac, throw out the "who's better technically" part, that's being nit picky and you're just putting a spin on things as well as down playing Pac's victory. Fine, you think Pac is an inferior boxer, that's your opinion. But let me explain further why most will not agree with you:

The first fight, Erik won a close but convincing fight. The second, Pac beat the hell out of Erik far more convincingly than what Erik had done to Pac in the first fight (it's funny how the gloves issue gets as much press as the fight itself). Fight for Fight, people will remember the last one coz that was punctuated with two knockdowns and a face full of hematoma and a crooked nose. Erik was a true warrion and survived the 6th round where most would have been given up. erik came back for more. Now everyone will remember the swollen glassy eyes of Erik on all fours wondering when the nightmare would end. This will be remembered along side Tyson searching for his mouth piece in the Buster Douglas fight. The first fight will be just a footnote in their history right next to the Reyes gloves issue.

Exactly! Lol, it'd be sooo boring if we all agreed, all of the time.

          • It's no different with Roy Jones nuthuggers. Roy instantly become old with one fight after having his biggest fight in his career. Makes perfect sense (sarcasm).
Well, of course, with Roy it was different. Your lack of knowledge about the human body (as well as basic common sense) prohibits you from speaking on the matter. Roy lost a lot of muscle...POUNDS of muscle mass. That will ruin you and forever change you. Being 36 years old is nothing to sneeze at as you imply either.

Erik did NOT go through that. Either way, I feel Erik was somewhat past his "prime" but still very good and the PAC win is big.

Most people will disagree? Speaking for everybody, are ya?
So if I'm just putting a 'spin' on things and downplaying mannys achievement, then I probably should go back and delete the posts I made, singing mannys praise...just so you'll be right about that.
As for that 'spin' and the nitpicking, I thought it was reasonably clear I made that comment about the better technician to counter the comment that just because Manny ko's fighters, hes the better OVERALL fighter.
I said manny wasnt the better fighter because somebody said he was, and I disagree. Not because I'm baised, or a manny hater. Because STYLES MAKE FIGHTS, and the rubber match is yet to happen, and several other reason I already posted.

Well I don't agree. If it makes you happy, Erik's a "better fighter overall" lol than Manny but the latter ate him up and spit him out and left him crawling for the the ref to stop the onslaught with a face that looked like it was beaten with a sack of oranges. And come on trace, you'r HUGE on Morales. It's only human to be a teeny tiny bit biased, nothing wrong with that. Oh yah, rubbermatch would be another trainwreck.

Other than that what's happenin trace, long time no talk

Hey mooks, glad to see you posting You been alright?
Okay, fair is fair, I am biased, but didnt post out of bias. Matter of fact, on the pinoy lang thread I'm all full of praise for manny...which was well deserved I might add.
And, like I said on that thread, I'm hoping morales shows much better defense against that left hand and that massive body work if and when a rubber match goes down.
I have no problem giving manny his due credit cause he was fierce and looked fantastic.
