  • Morales is definitely on the downside. While I could've overlooked his loss to Raheem as just an anomaly due to going up in weight, with his performance against Manny, it's official. He's going down, and all the "rest" in the world will never bring him back up again.

He's still a top 10 super-featherweight, but he'll never be champ again, no way.

That said, the Manny that fought on Saturday would've given even a prime Morales all sorts of trouble. And personally, I think he (with his great performance) has just closed the book on Erik's career. I doubt anybody else could've closed Morales out like that. Hat's off to him!

    • Well....that fight he just had on Saturday night probably took a lot out of him.
He's not washed-up, but retiring would be a wise move.

I don't want to hear another person saying that El Terrible is past his prime. I've seen Morales fighting for a long time, Morales from 5 years ago would've still lost to Pac by TKO.

The better man won & enough with the excuses, El Terrible is not over 40, also he's only had 6 more fights then Pac.
There is no way to know rather he is washed up or not right now.

Age has little to nothing to do with a fighters prime, Morales may still be young, but he's been through countless wars. These ring wars take a ultimate drain on a fighter.

I hope he's not done, and I personally don't believe he is, but that might just be wishful thinking.

        • Morales has fought twelve-rounder after twelve-rounder. Not many short, easy fights for him over the past several years.
That kind of work has to take its toll.

          • At 122 he was knocking people out....but he towered over his opponents at that weight (5'8"). 126, he still had decent power but not like at 122. 130, he has never knocked out anyone. He did knock down Jesus Chavez, though. Speaking of Chavez, should go down to 126.

Inaccurate generalization. For starters, he did NOT knock erik out. There is a big difference between a ko and a tko, thats why both exist. He did knock him down and the ref. stopped it. Erik was concious at all times..therefore, no ko.
Also, that oversimplyfing things a little. If winning made manny a better fighter than erik, then eriks winning the first fight made him the better fighter first...so a rubber match should be done before you can judge them going by that standard. In my 'dont really matter opinion " to pick the better of the two, I'd have to take into account how many fights each has had, against what level of opposition...how many top fighters each beat and were they in their prime, etc. along with several other factors. Simply going by who beat who between the two rules out their careers and the fact that styles make fights...and then theres the issue of making weight Lol, in other words, far too many things to go by than just who won.

Pac will inflict serious damage to boxers that Morales beat by UD. Erik lost twice to Barrera. Pac destroyed and traumatized Barrera, he probably won't fight Pac ever again. he decked JMM 3 times. Pac shattered Erik's cheek bone, reshaped his nose, and broke his rib. (sorry but i'm sure he's ok now)

PACQUIAO TKO MORALES RD 10!! SWEEEEETTTT!!!!!
Being the stronger of the two (in reference to manny ko'e guys that erik only beat) proves nothing in the way of who's better. IF you go by that, you can say that Eriks the best cause he's the better technician. Boxers, punchers...two totally different ways of getting the same job done. Being a ko artist doesnt make you a great 'fighter' overall.

So you think that Morales's fans are defending him by saying he's washed up? You must have a very funny concept of the word "defense".

And Erik has had a lot of classic battles, albeit mostly one-sided. Erik is that good.

Pac is pretty close in the mileage but I think he has less wear-and-tear. He got KO'd twice as a young starving fighter - and one of those was coz his head hit the canvas after the knock down (I have that fight).

Bro I just don't agree on the "less wear and tear" part.
The Pacman has been ******, bruised, cut and hurt more than Morales in his 46 fights because of his fighting style. It's just NOT exposed to the public because those were not STATURE fights. He only got the exposure and got noticed by the public when he beat up Barrera in U.S.
