I can't believe a fighter that has a 75% KO is considered "boring", speed kills and what's even better is Rigondeaux has some power to go with it. Rigondeaux would KO'ed Arce, Nishoka, Vasquez and sloppy punching Mathebula easily. Donaire would of his ass murdered if he tried to exchange with Rigo.

I hope Rigo has the chance to opt out of his Top Recycling promotion contract and switch to golden boy but I think even making the switch, GBP will put Santa Cruz near him. Rigo stops Mares and Cruz on body shots or TKO

Agreed. I still can't believe people are offended by an ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK not wanting to promote and support something that isn't ENTERTAINING.

      LOL.

Why not force HBO to broadcast golf coverage all day. I mean, there are some damn good golfers out there, and it's a "sweet science" too.

I wonder how long HBO would be in business doing that?

      Wake up, people!

Yeah not too cool, not impressed with Arum's PR skills. Seems he doesn't give a ****, which I kinda respect more than being a bastard and trying to put a pretty face on it, like GBP. In any case, he's done better than he could have hoped for:

early interim title shot vs used up contender
despite ugly performance, immediate mando at green champ, Haymon client Ramos
        kept busy on tv
12th fight vs p4p Donaire for 750k. Mares never made close to this, 1/2 as much vs PDL

I can understand casual viewers not being impressed but to hear boxing fans knocking rigos fight with doNaire and saying that rigo has a boring style is a damn shame. It was a masterclass in boxing and rigor is a grandmaster. Put him in there with the bums donaire fought last year and I'm sure he'd knock them all out Vazquez ,matthebula cmon. I'd like to see him fight donaire again.

Donaire himself is not what you call an exciting fighter. He prefers to counter. He knew that and realized he had to take risk and be more entertaining for the sake of the paying public. He's been doing that in his recent fights. But STILL he'll never become a PPV star. There's no DLH in his division. Add another boring Rigo to the mix, aarrggh...

While talented, he is boring. Boxing is a business and just because you're good, doesn't mean you are going to get paid. HBO said good bye the Klitchkos a long time ago and the same is happening here. If you aren't American and want to be on HBO, you better be exciting. In other words, Rigo, change your game up or deal with it.

And everyone blames rigo but it was donaire who was scared ****less in that fight and wouldn't throw because he was getting countered to death.

He embarrassed what many ranked as a high P4P, FOTY, and the golden boy of HBO. He should be the one being pushed not the loser.

Sign with TR and lose and big things will be coming.

He obviously needs better promotion and management, but even that may not be enough. Lets put it this way. I would like to see him fight and so would you. So we ask him to fight. He wants a million to fight Joe Blow. Then we think, hmmmm well for that same money, we can showcase someone like Golovkin 2 or 3 times.

I guarantee you this is all about money. He is not even a boring fighter to me. Trust me there are many worse out there who HBO does show. I think this comes down to marketability and fanbase combined, as well as HBO counting their pennies. If they would have got him to learn to speak english and show his face more, this may not have been an issue.

Golovkin did everything right. He learned English (well enough for now) has a seemingly great personality and has a management team and trainer behind him who gets the word out constantly in overdrive. That is what Rigo needs. To get the American Public to embrace and accept him, he has to do the same for the American public.

watch him do his best sales pitch when its time for 'nito to fight again.
Rigo laid down the law in the first round when he openly traded with Donaire in the middle of the ring. This was in spite of Nonito's reputation as a murderous puncher and Guillermo's own "reputation" of having a weak chin. The next three rounds saw more of the same. It wasn't until the middle rounds, when Rigo had built a solid lead, that he got more defensive. Yet, Donaire didn't exactly press the action, despite trailing on the cards. Why? Probably because he felt "El Chacal's" power, timing and speed...and the fact that Rigo wasn't following the script.

The predominantly Filipino crowd started booing Guillermo, when it was evident that Nonito was being less active (as the stats bear out). By the end of the fight, the fair-haired child was running for his life, desperately seeking to avoid being laid-out. Yet, once again, Rigondeaux gets accused of "running," "not fighting."

There's a lot of misperception here and little reality. People think Guillermo is boring? Fine. But it's laughable to accuse Rigo of making this particular clash "boring" (which, by the way, I don't believe it was).
