In their divisions there are no fighters like Gamboa, Erislandy Lara and Rigondeaux. The worst thing for you guys whi hate and envy the Cubans is that so many of they are coming. There are a lot more who will put the ****** puching bag Mexicans, phillipines etc in theur proper place. Nonito is nothing, Canelo is hiding from Lara from 2 years now. They believe that hiding those fighters will be old but so many of others are coming. Know the Cubans are taking there place in baseball and boxing. Please stay aside and see the real ones showing you guys who are the best in tradition. When phillipines and Mexicans where Indians playing with archs Cubans were champions and now there coming again.
      thanks for the laugh

not really. point still valid actually... tim still had name recognition. the result only HELPED and proved to be a good investment.... i would assume they invest in NAMES as well as EXCITING fights. how is my point off? if you were HBO, which of the following would you invest in:

        • recognizable fighter thats recently been on PPV
        • unknown fighter with fan-friendly style
        • unknown fighter with polarizing style

its not about who "deserves" it. its who can deliver a solid return on their investment. why the hell do you think rios/alvarado stay getting featured.

ESPN would gladly take boring boxers on their Friday night fights.
Don't count on GBP. They just recently threw another boring boxer under the bus.
Schaefer was in front of the media saying Lara is very difficult to promote.

Can't blame these promoters and networks, imho.

Im a huge Donaire fan but he got schooled by Rigo. Its not fair to school a top 5 pound for pound fighter and cant get support from your own promoter. Golden Boy is doing the same with Lara. Lara deserves a big fight soon, the fight with Angulo was exciting. Why sign someone if your not willing to promote them when they win? Its all excuses and we as fans are missing out.

old grumpy arum... i see it as a desperate attempt to save the donaire brand.... "oh its not donaire that ruined the fight, its rigo"

watch him do his best sales pitch when its time for 'nito to fight again.

Amazing how people, especially Donaire's fans, forget that. Nonito was literally running backwards with his hand over his poor eye, desperately trying to avoid a humiliating KO. It was pathetic to watch. If Donaire had stood in front of Rigo at all, the fight wouldn't have gone to the cards.

If you believe is not true make for instance Canelo- Lara and you will see again how my boy destroy your ****** fighter. If you want to see again Donaire loosing make the fight again, and I hope Donaire don't run again like he did in 12 round when he thought he can be knocked. Is excuse, bad faith and envy. That's the truth.

HBO doesn't want Rigondo because he's boring... not because he beat Donaire

look... the only way to market boring boxers like Rigondo and Cherrypicker is to make people pay to see them lose. That means Rigondo has to move up from 122 to find bigger opponents who aren't scared of a Rigondo counterpunch, but he don't wanna do that. So How can HBO market this guy if he won't move up?

                      i agree 100% with this.

it was donaire that FAILED that night. he was headlining, it was his fans, it was supposed to be his showcase... the lack of adjustment was just disgusting.

rigo had NO pressure to please the fans, so he did what he HAD to do. secure the win and burst 'nitos balloon.
