No, HBO is about profit. If GGG and War don't fight you can market 2 great fighters to different fan niches-ward marketed to the boxing fans and GGG to the power fans.

HBO, if you watched the fight game, has decided that they are going to market toward the power fans who tend to be younger. I like GGG and think his combination of power and amatuer background make him a real force. But if he loses now HBO essentially wasted the marketing effort.

It reminds me of another fight they didn't force to be made.

Why does he need froch? He already beat his ass in a convincing manner. And yes, he's the A side vs froch. If not why fight him when he already beat him, the loser is not gonna get the a side. It doesnt make sense, he can just go after chavez jr, ggg, or just move up. phuck taking less to fight someone which most boxing fans recognize as having inferior talent to him. And it does nothing for him regarding legacy by beating froch again. He doesnt need him froch is no competition for him.

The 'response' from Golovkin is from an interview in a Kazakh newspaper Vesti (is this related to the old soviet Izvestia?) Apparently he's had time to get home for a flying visit since the Macklin (Macline LOL) fight.

Tried it with Google translate and you get a bit of a feel for what he's saying, but as always with GT you kinda need to use your intuition to get a lot of it.

A good bit of it's him describing how the the media image ain't really him, how he's naturally quite reserved and likes his space, but he actually comes off as kinda thoughtful, polite etc anyway.

To beat Golovkin you must clinch a lot to break his momentum and limit his punches, Ward will do just that.

Well I agree with this, but the man can hurt you with not necessarily his best shot. It all depends whether Golovkin's power registers in the same way at 168. You can be a better boxer and still lose.
