Now i'm only holding Pacquiao to that level because the MEDIA and his fanbase compare him to ATG's such as Duran.

I basically think Pacquiao is better than the credit that his fanbase is giving him.
To me it's pretty much Pacfans trying to protect Pac from taking another loss.
Totally false, when he got iced by Hearns he fought 5-7 Manuel Zambrano lol. So according to your criteria the standards for Pac >>> for Duran.

If they wanted to protect him, they'd have him fight Cuenca or some featherfist, but that wouldn't be worth buying, at least for me.

I think both alvarado and rios are in the lower tier B class of fighters, maybe even C class. But at least they should have gone with the winner and slightly higher ranked jr WW. At least a Champion FFS! But oh well its a good fight but in NO WAY SHOULD IT BE PPV! Probably have a crappy card too. Not excited for this one mainly cause they want our money to watch two losers

The welterweight champions are all Golden Boy fighters except Bradley who turned down the fight.

So what would be the toughest options for Pacquiao? Floyd? Marquez? Bradley? Do they want to fight? For the record, Rios is a much tougher mfer than Alvarado. You guys really expect Alvarado to "outbox" Manny? The fear is he might outrun Manny and get a Bradley decision!

you have been a poster that argued manny was ahead on the cards when he got KO'd by a lucky punch. You have suggested and some other posters have accused/argued JMM was on PED's. If that is the case, how is this dealing with unknowns? You're kind of saying Manny was the regular Manny.

when the fight got announced, there was a subtle shift and now manny was damaged goods and may be shot or done as a fighter. If thats the case, like every fighter that gets KO'd, manny is getting an easy return fight where he is expected to get a relatively easy win and look good.

            Action doesn't equate to danger.

WHat you wont admit is rios will stand and trade and not move, which everyone knows increases manny's chances to win.

There is no fear rios is going to win so to argue he's a tougher fight makes no sense.

Even if just his chin is cracked (by legal means or other) it's a whole new ballgame. Pac gets hit, he's an offensive fighter. So there's danger there, Rios will have 15lbs on him fight night. But worse yet, if Pac is gunshy with chin doubts, Rios is the WORST kind of fighter you wanna be in with.

The Jr WW champions are all Golden Boy as well lol. Pacquiao's options were Alvarado, Rios or Provodnikov. They're all dead average fighters. It's not like people were gonna be more excited to pay if it was Alvarado.

Pac is 10x faster on his feet than Alvarado. But they'd rather have no running since it's the 1st ever PPV sold in China. Imagine never seen boxing before, you watch a little Shiming windmilling at bums, and then Pac Rios, whoa. You're hooked.
