Ellerby, you're the idiot if you think mayweather should get any respect...the guy is a cherry picker to the bone, always looking for advantages in one way or another....there's just no way you can compare him to an arguello, a leonard, a benitez, a duran...these guys never looked for advantages....catchweights my eye !!

fraud jr needs to pay people to respect him.
no person on his right mind will respect floyd the fraud. he cherry picks his opponents, go on vacation when the ww was stacked with worthy opponents and robs ppv subscribers of exciting fights.

Mayweather along with Oscar De La Hoya hold the record for the most Pay Per View buys with their fight in 2007 having 2.45 million purchases. This fight with Alvarez assures to be on the same level and some even think it could break the record as Golden Boy has promised to have the fight accompanied with a stellar undercard.
Mayweather’s success as a household name goes hand in hand with his skill set which is regarded as the best in the sport. His defense along with his ring IQ, speed and fighting ability has led to an undefeated career thus far. Despite being considered the pound for pound best, there are still some who refuse to give him proper credit or respect according to Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe.

Just for the record...ODLH was unarguably the biggest draw when he fight floyd. While Canelo's latest outing against Trout was a total sell out. I'm just not sure about floyd's against guerrero. Was it really a disaster, financially?
With the facts I stated above, you might know who's the one wearing the pants comes September.

More people respond positive towards a positive person, than some wannabe thug or $h!t talker like mayweather chose to be...
Manny Pacquiao since 2008 till he lost to Marquez on their 4th meeting was the face of boxing, and this is true.. because of Manny Pacquiao there has been a whole mess of new fans of boxing from celebrities to normal people that never liked boxing until Manny Pacquiao came along.
And Like I said it's only because Mayweather chose his role as the wannabe thug, bad ass, showing off that "I HAVE MONEY, YOU DON'T"....
His famous quote used to be "DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ME AND ALL OF YOU IS, MY $h!t IS PAID FOR, WHAT ABOUT YOURS" etc.. you don't get fans by showing off or talking $h!t.. you get more fans by just being a humble nice guy...
Even after Pacquiao lost to Bradley he was still the face of boxing so from 2008-2012 Pacquiao was Boxing... Another thing that didn't help Mayweather is fighting once every 1 1/2 years.. sometimes he wouldn't fight for almost 2 years...
How can you keep a fan base when you fight once every 18 months... Someone tell me I'm wrong... And keep in mind I am a fan of boxing... not just of Pacquiao, but of Mayweather also.

One thing Ellerbee had wrong Mayweather is NOT a fighter!!!! Floyd is a very talented boxer who was unfortunately cursed by receiving the balls of a gnat to go with his talents
Ellerbee also claims Floyd is one of the most popular atheletes. Well my grandson a sports nut said to me " Who was that funny little dwarflike guy who fought the Big Show on WWE??? Is he really a boxer " ??? lol He was certainly not very impressed by Floyd.

I wouldn't say he's carried boxing, he is, now, boxing only real PPV Superstar but he hasn't carried the sport. There will always be great fights and great fighters with or without Mayweather

To say Floyd Mayweather is just a "runner" is just ridiculous. Runners don't land on the highest punch percentage in the history of the sport. Runners don't collect 26 Knockouts. Guy's that aren't good boxers don't limit their opponents landing percentage to the lowest in boxing history. That type of stuff does not happen if you are not an elite, complete and intelligent fighter. Whether you like it or not, or want to admit it because you personally despise the man, he is at the moment the best. I love brawlers and a high action bout. Fighters like Brandon Rios, Pacquiao, Matthyse, Miadana, etc. Blood and guts warriors. But is there no room in this sport for pure boxers like Mayweather, Ward, Rigo etc. There's no room for fighters like that? They have to be labeled runners? Cut it out lol, they're intelligent fighters.
