Yes, Canelo is "overrated and overhyped". And it's the reason why this fight is a sell out.

Runners don't collect 26 Knockouts. Guy's that aren't good boxers don't limit their opponents landing percentage to the lowest in boxing history. That type of stuff does not happen if you are not an elite, complete and intelligent fighter. Whether you like it or not, or want to admit it because you personally despise the man, he is at the moment the best. I love brawlers and a high action bout. Fighters like Brandon Rios, Pacquiao, Matthyse, Miadana, etc. Blood and guts warriors. But is there no room in this sport for pure boxers like Mayweather, Ward, Rigo etc. There's no room for fighters like that? They have to be labeled runners? Cut it out lol, they're intelligent fighters.
        Great post. Well said.

Does he need to be? The Money and Numbers Speak For Themselves! After Oscar De La Hoya Mayweather did carry boxing to the point that other fighters used his name to build up their careers. Adrien Broner and Canelo are doing it as well.

So he don't need the credit for Fans or Boxing Media because nobody is saying the he did not carry boxing. Well of course the trolling losers who hate him may try to argue against it but they don't count!

since when does popularity and resume equal the same thing?

his resume indicates people will watch him fight whoever.

Is that so? Then why the hell on earth your idol couldn't fill up a 16,000 seats on his fights since he came back from retirement, specially in his latest outing against guerrero? Would you mind enlightening us all here, boxing genius?

Sadly, I'm not at all convinced that a lot of people tuning in to watch 'the FMJ show' equates to public interest in the sport as a whole. Maybe the guy could throw a few of them $s to supporting inner city gyms and the amateur program 'stead of at cameras. If he gave a **** he could probably make a difference.

                      As for Ellerbe - well...
