The only thing Lewis seemed to have taught him is how to be unbeatable whilst in shape.

    Shame price wasn't in shape.

      @ "Bias Brits overhyped him"

      Typical Fat Yankery.

The only person I know who hyped him on here was Freedom who is not a Brit and who loves big stiff idiots

He's a terrible fighter with horrendous footwork and very little sense.

This wasn't Lewis' fault, the tactics weren't entirely to blame and Thompson himself is a decent boxer but no beast...what beat price was his shameful conditioning. I've met Price and I've met Morton (Price's conditioning coach) and they both normally look like a good team but what the **** happened last night? Price gassed after 3 rounds, was on reserve by the end of the 4th and totally gone by the start of the 5th. I genuinely don't understand it, I've seen Price throw similarly amounts of punches in previous fights...may be it was the fact that Thompson was bigger than David's previous opponents and someone who wasn't afraid to come forward.

David lost due to his failings in preparation, physically he wasn't where a professional athlete at his level should be. The coaching team needs to be seriously assessed.

Offering up 3-1 odds on Price winning. LMAO. You Brits are so blinded by nationality that you couldn't make a fair judgement of one of your fighters if you lives depended on it.
Frpm a country that has brought us Deontay Wilder and Seth Mitchell you'd do well to shut your trap.

But this just shows David Price was another over hyped Brit, who was good at domestic level early on, no offense. There's plenty like that at heavyweight in the US too. S**t, I was high on Price early on too.

Can't wait for Scott vs Chisora.
              Still butthurt over Jeff Lacy?

The real blame should go to Maloney. This was a case of too much too soon. Beating Audley Harrison doesn't mean you're ready to fight a guy who's been in the ring with Wlad twice. Thompson's edge in experience and toughness were enough to overcome Price's physical attributes. Then when you factor in Price's chin, this fight was awful for him. Even in the first fight, TT was fat and out of shape but he was still calm and confident. Then they put Price back in there with a guy that knows its only a matter of time before he can hurt him again. You don't put young fighter's with weak chins in the ring against experienced, resilient fighters. It's a recipe for disaster.

I don't blame Lennox at all. They didn't really have enough time together to implement a proper plan over 12 rounds. Then Price shoots his load trying to knock Thompson out early. That's just another example of inexperience (and very poor conditioning).

Maloney is a weasel and with all due respect to Lewis, I think even 8 weeks wouldn't have been enough.

Exactly. Fighters go through multiple training camps with a new trainer before they see vast results. Look at Amir Khan and Virgil Hunter. They've had 2 training camps together and they still have work to do. 3 weeks is nothing. Maloney can't blame Lennox for his error in matchmaking and then putting Price back in for the rematch.

I think he went into the ring with the idea of fighting a patient disciplined fight, but somewhere along the line, probably in the 2nd round, he just yearned for this fight to be over and he pushed for the quick KO.

Thompson deserves credit though. He wore Price down with those body shots. He beat a man with a reach, height, power, and 12-year age advantage twice now.
