He isn't ready for Ward and would probably not be ready, the fight can seasoned and cooked all they want but at the end of the day he would get outbox by Ward who would just make it boring. So I understand the reason for them wanting to maximise the profit in a ward fight. Fighting now they would get less money for a loss.
If GGG wants to avoid Ward at the moment, I don't have a problem. Moving up to fight the best @ 168 isn't the smartest move. Now if he avoids Kid Chocolate @ 160, then that's a b*tch move! I'm hoping that he fights Martinez or Quillin THIS YEAR!
Look i belive in golovkin hes fun as hell to watch, he has tremendous power, a great chin, an he is a sound fighter....but beating macklin doesnt mean ur ready for ward......ward still holds the weight advamtage unless golovkin comes in heavy fight night, ward still has advantages in speed, skill, ring generalship, defense, experience.....not saying ward wud ko cause thats not gon happen but getting outbox can easily occur.....golovkins power keeps him a live dog in any fight he takes but i think he shud still be earning experience fighting top caliber opponents, i say do a few more fights at middleweight become sergios mandatory if hes even eligible or fight kid chocolate because i dont thimk hes signed to top rank unless he hasa an hbo contract which then idk.....i mean well see what happens the kids an animal id love to see him vs chavez jr to big punchers going at it i have golovkin in that fight..
Translation: He's not ready for Ward yet. Honestly, GGG has much work to do at 160lbs. If the guys at MW are willing to fight him, those are the fights I would like to see right now. Then, we could get GGG vs. Ward. I would like to see a Geale fight, Chavez Jr, and Sergio. A Quillin fight probably won't happen though.
GGG looks to be a promising fighter, he's accomplished before turning pro and has power...
but beating a guy in Macklin who was already beat up and stopped by Martinez simply because you fight with more of a power puncher style (which means you're more likely to stop an opponent earlier than a mobile boxer) doesn't automatically make you the P4P challenge of all...
People are already saying he's right up there with Floyd and Ward...then will proceed to discount a win over GGG for Ward, Martinez or even Floyd by saying he wasn't ready or really unproven.
