Let's be real. GGG is not too big for Floyd.

In that case he should go ahead and do that if he wants the Mayweather fight because he's not getting it if he stays at 160 and talks about being able to fight at 154.

I have my doubts of him making 154 comfortably though.

I have my doubts about him improving his chances by dropping to 154. I don;t think he should as long as the available fights at 160 are much better than at 154

        That may be true.

But his name should t even be mentioned until he does drop to 154.

If he says he can make 154, then he can make it. Why would he have reason to lie, it would only end up in him paying a huge fee if he came in over the limit anyway.

Floyd has faced Marquez from lightweight without him having any experience at higher weights, don't see how Gennady dropping 1 weight class is any different.

            It's not that easy.

Dawson said he could make 168. Oscar said he could make 147. Could they? In a healthy manner?

Not that Golovkin can't, but he hasn't been there in a long long time.

Until he actually makes 154 and doesnt continue to fight at MW I don't think he should be considered an opponent for Mayweather

But how come Marquez was considered an opponent for Mayweather? Seems like selective choice to me.

Despite coming off a 2 year lay off the consensus at the time was he shouldn't have been an opponent and a worthless fight.

Mayweather doesn't get credit by many for fighting Marquez at 147lbs. Ward doesn't get credit for fighting Dawson at 168lb even though Dawson promised everyone that he could make the weight, etc. It would be no different if GGG didn't prove himself at 154lb first.

If he's serious then he should drop to 154lb for 2014 to help build up the hype.

Did you feel about the same way about Sergio challenging Floyd at 154?

Ward is only in his 1st division, there's really no reason for Dawson to drop down. With Floyd it's understandable he won't go past 5th, though not so much that he needs a CW to unify there. For Floyd JMM it's a whole different thing, a guy coming up 2 weight classes against a younger, faster, fresher, more talented guy. How much credit can you expect?
