Now we're talking son
When Mayweather beats Alvarez (which he will) and GGG beats kid chocolate or Chavez or whoever (which he would) then make it happen-Floyd is the best fighter in the world everybody knows that, but he says hes the greatest-this is perfect for him
Waiting for a deluded ***** to say why he shouldn't..........

It seems that's the trend these days in boxing. Look like a beast in one weight division and start looking for smaller opponents. How different the likes Leonard's, Duran's and Hearns' careers would've been if they did the same.
It's obvious that Mayweather is Golovkin's dream fight. It pays the most and carries far less risk than moving up to fight Ward. And those that say, "if Mayweather is fighting at 154lbs and Golovkin can make the weight, what's the problem?". I think you're all being disingenuous. You know what the problem is and wouldn't ask the same of another welterweight (because that's what Mayweather is). You wouldn't have asked Roy Jones Jr to fight Lennox Lewis after winning a heavyweight title. Did fighting at heavyweight make him one? You know it didn't.
You want people to just say the words? Fine. It's very likely that GGG sparks Mayweather out because not only it Golovkin a very, very good fighter, but he is a much bigger man. So would Ward, so would Wlad. Now you should be prepared to say the words too. The reason why rabid "fans" are licking their lips at such a prospect is because it's true that NO ONE from 140 to 147lbs is likely to beat Mayweather.
The fact that this is even being entertained is inadvertantly a compliment to Mayweather.

If a fighter wants to fight in a different weight class he can, you don't go calling Pacquaio a featherweight do you? Why? Because he fights at welterweight. If GGG wants to go down to 154 to fight Mayweather, he will be a JMW, END OFF. If a heavyweight wants to lose 40+ pounds and fight at welterweight what is the problem with that? Do you think he will have any advantage in muscle? Do you think a fighter will be able to hydrate 40+ pounds overnight and somehow become a heavyweight overnight again? If a welterweight wants to move up and face a super middleweight what's the problem? There is none whatsoever, if you can make the weight you are game and part of that division.
Floyd should NOT be fighting in the JMW division if he can't make the weight effectively, and if he does that's his own problem and risk, nobody elses. He always likes to claim he fights the best, I'd love to see him say that to Golovkin at 154, he would get wrecked.Last edited by T18Z; 06-30-2013, 05:11 AM.
