I love how Oscar De La Hoya and Alvarez fans and Floyd haters keep trying to convince everyone who will listen that Alvarez has more fans and is the star of this PPV.

If Alvarez were half the star that all of his fans and haters believe, he would have already headlined his own PPV. If he can attract 40,000 people to watch his fight in Texas (for a ticket price that costs about the same as a minor league baseball game) against Trout, why couldn't Schaffer have put it on PPV and drawn 500,000 PPV buys for what many of you think is the most popular boxer in the world? The answer is that Alvarez is not good enough to carry a PPV event and Schafer knew this. There were 1.2 million people who watched him for free against Trout on Showtime. There were 1 million people who paid to see Mayweather beat Guerrerro on Showtime PPV. That should tell you everything you need to know about who is the star of this event.

If it is not, think about this. The star of the event is the one who is making the most money. Mayweather is receiving a $40 million guarantee. Alvarez is probably getting a $5 or $6 million guarantee. But, hey, at least you can lay your hat on the fact that Alvarez is drawing more fans to the press conferences.

Guerrero´s fans were the ones that paid, idiot. Mayweather had less fans than Hatton, Cotto, etc. Peopl just pay to see him lose, that´s crazy but that is how brainwashed the average consumer is. Canelo and Pacman, being foreigners and hardly speaking English, have huge fan bases in the US and entire countries supporting them. Guess hoe many people in Mexico alone will cheer for Canelo, and how many in the US. Do the math. Not bad for a foreigner that can´t speak English.
