Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar de la Hoya is convinced that WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) can beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The two fighters are taking part in ongoing eleven city promotional tour. De La Hoya disagrees with Mayweather's recent comments that Canelo built his name, and his fan base, by fighting on Mayweather's pay-per-view events. Acccording to De La Hoya, most of the fans who are attending the public promotional tour - are fans of Canelo.

Agreed. Mayweather is going to school this kid. Alvarez is vastly overrated and is popular mostly due to the fact that he has white skin, red hair and freckles. Not even trying to hate, real talk. A lot of hype for such few achievements with this kid.
