      Of course Sweet Pea.

If you talk about the art of defense with most boxing fans nowadays, without a doubt the name Floyd Mayweather will be brought up. There is no doubt that Money Mayweather is probably the best defensive fighter in recent years...

      Solid list by Bleacher Reports.

I feel Whitaker is better all around but I'll actually go with Mayweather as the better defensive fighter.

Pernell & his defense was tested against the best of his time not has beens, over the hill fighters, smaller guys or hand picked guys that weren't in his league.

Oh yeah... Broner?!?!?! Lol!!! He gets tagged way to much to be mentioned with the other names... Gavin Reese landed combos back to back on him... Smh Broner lol!

Floyd is the best. Broner or SRL are not in this picture. Its down to Floyd & Pea. However, I give it to Floyd because of 2 things. Floyd may have the best D in history because he can switch styles more than any other guy. Pea's D is the same every time. Floyd uses different defenses from fight to fight or even in-fight.

On top of that Pea is a Southpaw. People always overlook that when they talk about stuff like this or fighters period. Everything is just much easier for a Southpaw. Pea wouldve definitely got hit more if he were orthodox and Floyd would be nearly unhittable if he were a Southpaw

That goes more towards his abilities in mixing up offense and defense. You can't count that against his defense.

Guy could stand and trade with you without holding, and slips everything. Floyd holds when he's on the inside. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Pea actually fights on the inside, and makes you miss.

Floyd holds or uses the against the ropes gimmick, while still getting hit.

                  BIG DIFFERENCE.

Anyone with eyes will tell you Pea's defense is more natural and advanced.

Guys like Pernell/Benitez proved their defense against ATG fighters. Floyd's proving it against good fighters.
