Come on, man, Fury on the offensive is a joke. If, somehow, he boxes to a strict defensive game plan, he could take Haye into deep water and stop him late; but, honestly, I don't see it. He's not smart enough. He'll start showboating, leave himself open and Haye will floor him with a jab or straight-right.

Ranking is irrelevant. For one, it's the Heavyweight division. Secondly it's subjective. And finally, Fury is absolutely tailor made for Haye. It's another high priced cherry-pick from Team Hayemaker.

All hell will break lose when Deontay WIlder is ranked next year or even later this year.
Hell, some lists have Price in it.
That it's ****. But it's been that way for years, nothing new.

Alright guys, so David Haye is a contender. right? He's fighting a guy who most governing bodies rank top 5. And it's a careful cherrypick?

Yoz, what were you saying when Wlad fought guys that weren't even ranked in the top 20? And Wlad is the champion.

If Wlad had fought Fury later this year, everyone would be saying how he "always takes on the best" and fights "everyone in the top 10". Don't say you wouldn't because the script was already written with Mormeck, Pianeta and Wach.

that being said, I do agree Fury is a turd and Haye will KO him in 3 rounds. But give me none of that stuff about cherrypicking, especially when you are a huge klitschko fan.

Dirk - Ranking is not irrelevant. He's trying to secure a Klitschko shot. Who else would bring him closer? And who exactly wouldn't be a cherrypick? Be realistic in terms of the boxers profile.

Fury has beaten Chisora and Cunningham. People are going to be in for a big shock. This won't be anywhere near as easy for Haye as people think. Fury might even pull off an upset.

I'm not saying it's a bad fight for Haye. It's win-win: he'll move up the rankings with a win, and get a great pay day.

Re. Wladimir. Most of the 'contenders' are ducking him (to protect their unbeaten records), so he's having to search further and further down the rankings for opposition. He likes to keep busy; we shouldn't complain.

That size matters? Fury's far from a great boxer but like Valuev he has some significant physical advantages which can outweigh (literally and figuratively) the technical advantages of superior boxers, the Cunningham fight being a prime example.
