I don't see it. Gamboa makes too many mistakes because he relies on his speed and power, he's not that smart in the ring but Garcia is. I see Gamboa getting brutally knocked out somewhere in the middle rounds.

If Gamboa comes in without a game-plan again, he'd find himself in serious trouble. Luckily for him, Mikey and him are similiar in height and he won't be at too much of a reach disadvantage. I'd pick Yuri at 135 and Mikey at 130.

Everyone Gamboa fights apparently knocks him out. Garcia would get destroyed.

I am not overly impressed by him and what he did with Juanma is only what any other half decent boxer would of done. Wow he beat a punchbag who got his **** pushed in by Rogers Mtagwa, he must be the next big thing.

I bet the whole boxing world is shaking in their boots.

I thought everyone Gamboa fights will get their ass kicked by his monster punching power and lightning speed, except Farenas and Perez of course

Garcia just did to 2 top 10 ranked guys what Gamboa wasnt able to do to two 50th ranked guys

Its the way it goes, those two guys have chins and a responsible defense.

You think Farenas wouldn't knock that version of Juanma out? I'd pick Perez over him too at any weight without any hesitation.
Juanma is old hat, he has nothing left. Hes been on the slide for 5 years & stopped twice in absolute wars in recent memory.

Lets face it the best fighters moved on or declined rapidly & left a weak division for Mikey to clear out. Shopworn Salido was #1 I think that really does speak volumes for how deep that division is. That is the same Salido, Gamboa toyed with when he was still fresh before destroying Solis & Ponce. I agree they wasn't his best performances but I still say Farenas is very underrated & was giving Uchiyama hell before that cut it was still early but he was all over him & landing monster shots on him.

Its not just those stoppage losses, the guy got plastered by Rogers Mtagwa.

Juanma was never good he was nothing but a puncher with a lot of heart.

How the hell is Juanma even in the top 10? What has he done in recent years? Hes been stopped twice and beaten nobody of any note in maybe 4-5-6 years and this guys top 10?

Gamboa gets KO'ed sorry, he lunges in, he isn't patient at all. He has good reflexes but I don't see him winning here.

Not in the fight preceding Gamboa. Perez was floored 2X by some 8-8-1 guy right before.

Farenas might beat him but Darley? Cmon that guy was so terrible. There's a reason he's ranked in the 40s and never beat anybody, because he cant. Gamboa looked so lost against a guy who is usually a come forward fighter but decided to be defensive minded. He basically had an even fight with Gamboa. Whats gonna happen when he faces a Garcia who fight just like that but actually punches back

Lets face it, Gamboa moved up to 2 even weaker divisions, chose their 50th ranked fighters and still looked like trash against them. Salido is leaps and bound above anyone Gamboa has faced since leaving 126 and mikey completely humiliated him. I was a big Gamboa fan but the guy fell off as bad as Juanma except instead of being pinned with guys like Salido and Garcia, he's been pinned against prospects, and thats basically the only reason he's not where Juanma is right now in his career

Yeah but that doesn't excuse the fact that Garcia has the perfect style to tangle with Gamboa. Gamboa is known to lose patience when he can't have his way, at times he'll resort to rabbit punching and getting wild, he has those tendencies. Garcia's distance, timing, precision and power could ultimately do him in.
