In Wilder's fourth year as a pro, in addition to Hayes (a short-notice, stay-busy fight), he also fought:

Kelvin Price, undefeated with a win over Tor Hamer

Kertson Manswell, at least as useful and as good of a journeyman as Releford and Aguilera

Owen Beck, also a journeyman, well past it but at least had fought for a title in his prime -- far more accomplished than either Releford or Aguilera

And just outside that "fourth year as a pro window," Wilder fought Travis Walker, who has a record pretty much identical to Aguilera's

Previous to that he fought Damon Reed and Dominique Alexander, both journeymen who I'd put in the same class or at worst one notch below.

Compare Wilder's resume to that of David Price. Wilder has beaten better fighters.

So I nominate David Price -- put in with a couple of domestic Brits with pretty records (that went to crap after he defeated them) and a quick KO of washed-up Audley Harrison and they threw him in with a contender who tapped him on the shoulder and knocked him out.

that's correct. he probably has a flat fee for training, but if not, he makes 10% to train, and 30% to manage.

he makes almost half of what haye makes, before taxes.

Ricardo Mayorga was! He could of made a lot money if he wasn't with Don King his whole career. Can you imagine all the good fights and pre fight entertainment we could have gotten if he was with Top Rank? So many good fights..........Mayorga/Margarito, Mayorga/Floyd, Prime Mayorga/Cotto, Mayorga/ Pacquiao, Prime Mayorga/De la Hoya, ect. ect. ect.........

It pissed me off that Mayorga spent his prime years fighting once every year and a half with Don King.

Olandier Solis. He is 33 now and apparently he needs another fight against someone no one has heard of before he can get back in title contention. Terrible waste of talent.

Mayorga fought Forrest 2X, Spinks, Trinidad, DLH, Vargas, Mosley and Cotto

When could he have fought all those guys anyway?

David Haye is one of the best managed fighters. "Super fights" with Harrison, Chisora, Wlad and now Fury? The guy has UK eating right out of his hands

                    Andre Ward.

He should be much more known as a #1 or #2 P4P fighter.

Would a good manager not recognise this and advise him how to further his career? But instead he has to beg guys he's already beaten clearly to fight him again, just so he can earn anywhere near decent money. He's one of the top 5 fighters in the world, for fucks sake, if he was managed properly he'd earn 10x more per fight than he does now. To blame his style alone is nothing but a cheap cop out, casual fans buy boring fights all the time.
