153 and ripped is struggling to make weight? Canelo might have stamina issues but that happens with some fighters. Jermaine Taylor never had issues making weight but gassed out often in fights. Sometimes its mental.

Why would you want a great guy and fighter like Martinez to go out on a T/KO loss? Then the same guys who downplay Martinez would hype the **** out of the win knowing where the guy was in his career.

Chad Dawson was 168 and ripped... Try again.

That's the thing, all boxers are a walking hypocrite and contradict themselves all the time, some of the threads on here need to be a lot better and creative. Because some of them are so ****** it's unbelievable.

7 lbs minus 2 lbs is not exactly the same ballpark. Ones 22 and the other ones in his 30s.

You just proved my point. One was cutting more weight and still looked great at the weigh in didn't he? Its ok tho, I know Floyd can no wrong and y'all do anything to defend him.

At 152 Floyd can be hit. Weve seen it happen twice.

Hatton and Bradley have both been known to have a walk around weight between 170-180 (mostly fat & water weight not muscle), but no one seems to think they should have been fighting at 168-175. By contrast, their fight night weight (the only one that counts) was usually around 150.

In Martinez's case his walk around weight (based on 30 day weigh-ins) can vary between 170-176, which tells us he probably typically weighs in the 170s. His fight night weight (the one that counts) typically varies between 165-167.

Also, TS needs to bring up his sources; I think he's just pulling out rabbits out of his ass. Particularly w/ the GGG comment, Martinez has always complemented Gennady and has has mentioned him as a possible opponent ever since he came into the scene.
That checks out. I remember seeing threads about that after the JCC jr. fight.

You can see it in the body frames Martinez is too small for 160. look at him against pavlik and Chavez Jr....

he is a true 154 and they have said it I dont know if the can go down now since it has been a long time but the dude is a bad ass....
