dont worry, canelo is only 22 and he has time to fight the best, one at a time...
fantasy fights are those we know dont have a chance to ever happen , unless the fighter is already retired he still has the chance to face most...
even if they dont bring nothing ($$) to the table like paulie once said....

Yep. He's still young doe. In just two years all these Canelo fantasy matchups will become reality. There are fantasy fights where we know will never happen. We all know who those fantasy fighters are.

I'm not sure if I 100% agree with you but it was a dam exiting fight. Atfirst i thought it's one way traffice and Angulo would get taken apart. But round after round Angulo kept coming and I felt he might actually get Lara out of there with this pressure and bodywork

          Great fight though

Because he was caught with a puncher he never saw, because that was the first time Amateur or pro that he was down, because Angulo is a monster of a puncher, because Angulo was a light Heavy Weight fight night and because the ring was made for a brawler like Maidana and Angulo, a small ring, put all those factor into the equation and you might see the light... Lara would kick the $h1t out any 154 pounder not named Fraud...

Schaefer is just flexing nuts letting Lara and his team know they are in no place to start making demands. He's a great talent but not very exciting for the most part unless he's fighting Ronald Hearns type fighters and taking them out in 1 round. He wanted to cut them off before they start making big demands for potential fights against Cotto/Canelo/Trout/Floyd when the guy can't draw and Cubans aren't very supportive of their fighters.

Lara and his team will just have to wait it out because honestly what can they do? Leave Golden Boy and sign with Top Rank to fight Martirosyan 8 times in a row? Top Rank has nothing at 54 and would probably just have to throw him in there with GGG since he's at HBO.

It wasn't the smartest way to go about it but the message was sent loud and clear.

I always liked Lara, but now I really like Lara after this fight. He showed a ton of guts and heart and hopefully this is the fight that helps propel him forward much like the first Paul Williams fight did for Martinez.

That's what the fight fans and the TV networks want to see. They are very invested in winning and losing, but they want to see exciting fights. It used to be a for a long time, that you had to go back in line and start over again. That's not the case anymore. Josesito Lopez, just because he lost - it doesn't mean he goes back to the end of the line, he's right back in the mix. I think up until a few years ago that's' not the way boxing worked. I think we took a page out of the UFC's playbook, because with the UFC excitement is rewarded," Schaefer said to BoxingScene.com

"I think TV networks, at least Showtime, is rewarding excitement as well. When you see a fight like a Rignodeaux or a Gamboa - they don't have very crowd pleasing styles. And I think as a result it makes them much more difficulty to sell, and it has nothing to do with promoting."

Man, you think Arum is bad? He's even worse when it comes to boring fighters.

Schaefer even got Mares, who is not exactly a boring fighter, and his last paycheck hasn't even reached the $500K mark. So you think Schaefer will do better with Rigo?

That's the thing, they pay Golden Boy Mares dirt, and they gonna do right by the much less marketable Rigo, whose purse demands are already way beyond Mares
