A promoter's job is to promote his fighters & if he can't then leave the business....

Only thing is that if Canelo loses to Floyd, there's no belt to be won.....

So, then why make Lara jump through hoops before he fights him (IF HE EVER does)? And for the record, if he lost to P-Will, then why did the NJ State Athletic Comm. bar the 3 judges indefinitely? And there was no thumb, stop lying.....

    +1....

If these so called promoters think they're the goods, prove it.
Then they would actually have to work - not happening......

I mean he almost lost to Angulo, he was close before getting stopped himself. He had big trouble keeping a hard hitting but unskilled and slow opponent away from him. I dont think he could beat Alvarez.
The only way to find out is for them to fight......

But I agree with Schaefer. That kind of hit and run style of fighting will ruin anyone's shiny record. High risk, low reward. Most casual fans can't stomach that kind of boring style. I'd be ****** to fight Lara if I were Canelo. I'd avoid a rematch with Rigo if I were Donaire. Let him gloat with his win all he wants. It's not worth it. Casuals would even thank you for it. Such fights are a royal waste of time.
So you condone cherry-picking? Wait, don't answer that.......

Canelo fights in spurts because he has no wind. Put that with him having to find his target, & he'll gas by the 5th round.....

But I'm on that I'd like to see Canelo vs Lara after the Floyd fight.
Almost every fighter that steps into the ring with him is either underweight or shot, so that's bound to happen....

dude, I've had stitches on half my mouth, and other swollen areas of my face, but orbital bone broken is as painful as you can imagine, don't say bull****.
Now, did Angulo do that all by himself?

I mean he didn't sugar coat it or anything. He just came out and said let's not BS each other the guy's not exciting.

WTF?! You're his promoter. Say something else positive then to drum up interest in the guy. Like how he got up twice from being floored by one of the hardest hitters in the division.

What he said was the truth in a way, and sums up what a lot of people think about Lara/THAT style of boxing. But he still has a commitment to the fighter to sell him to the public.
I agree - Schafer's a douche. He's mad that Lara messed up his $$$. If as a promoter, you can't or won't do your job, you should:

    1. release that fighter from their contract and,
    2. quit the business because you ain't shyte....

The fight was excitting, but it was excitingg because of Anguko pushing the action, not because of Lara. Lara would have been content to throw a punch and run arounf the ring.

He isn't easy to sale to the casual fan because of his style.
Yes there is - Schafer basically said he can't do his job. If there's nothing wrong with that, then I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.....

It's funny how depending on who the fighter is he's either gutsy or weak chinned.
    Khan - KTFO
Canelo - rocked by a smaller fighter
    Pacquaio - planked
Ortiz - quit, not once, but TWICE

    Great examples!

People use a fighter "STYLE" as a way to be Politically Correct but a Cuban fighter is going to be a tough sell in America IN GENERAL regardless of their "STYLE"! Especially to the Conservative Casual Boxing Fans and we really don't need to get into WHY. Those are the same people who made a big deal about Beyonce and Jay Z visiting Cuba

These Cuban boxers need better promoters. Fighting in cities where there aren't Latinos or people of his culture isn't going to help him at all.

Canelo got rocked by a career lightweight. Khan got KO'd by Prescott.... BREIDIS F'n PRESCOTT for crying out loud. Ortiz quit in the Maidana scrap. Lara on the other hand got KD'd by a relentless tank and proceeded to win the rounds immediately following his KDs. Apples and oranges.
