They hype unskillful guys like Angulo up, but how long will he be around fighting that type of style? I give him 2 more years and his career will be over. Lara was hitting him with almost everything he threw. He would be an idiot to just stand there and trade with a power puncher. They need to create another sport if they want to see complete bloody violence. Boxing is the sweet science of hitting and not getting hit. Schaefer is not helping the sport by making negative statements about a talented fighter with a bright future. He is simply trying to keep Lara away from Alverez by calling him boring. Boring or not, he is too skilled for Canelo.
You couldn't have said it any better. Why Richard Schaefer is hating on the sweet science that Lara brings to the ring is beside me. BTW isn't Lara a GBP fighter? What the hell is this guy complaining about?

Ok... So you come up with some bull**** theory that a fighter needs to know English and then with a lame ass comeback.

You still mad that your boy lost even with 10 lbs on Rigo? That left hook and size wasn't all what you thought it would be huh?

It was a pretty good comeback, right?

Yup, this is what I think. And this is all disgraceful. After an exciting fight like Lara and Angulo, your promoter shouldn't be telling people you're a tough sell, he should be telling people how awesome you are. Pathetic from Schaefer.

It's not like they're deathly afraid of Lara facing Alvarez like they are of Garcia facing Matths, but they'd rather not find out if Canelo could beat Lara.

Lara's resume is way better than Canelo's, they keep handing Lara the tough opponents while letting Canelo fight easy and undersized opponents. Once Lara is worn down a little more, they might allow him and Canelo in the same ring. You know, now that Canelo is fighting Mayweather, GB is going to reward him with a two year vacation of fighting bums.

I actually think Lara Canelo would be an excellent fight. 50/50

Hard to get interested in a fighter if the promoter doesn't put the time in to push them to an audience.

All Schaefer is doing here is blatantly telling you, "I'm not pushing Lara for a second."

It's funny how depending on who the fighter is he's either gutsy or weak chinned.
Khan has a weak chin b/c he continues to get knocked out and his last opponent had a great chance of doing the same and he was coming up in weight. Pacquiao was knocked smooth out and Ortiz just continues to quit on fights.

Exactly plus he dont want to hear about a possible fight between him and Canelo. If he continue to put him in fights with decent opponents he will continue to get these types of results. He may not have the best stye but he is a good fighter and he is avoided for a reason.
