no hate what has this guy done that makes him so great? drawing molina? drawing vanes?losing to paul williams? without that thumb angulo was on the verge of knocking him out. Canelo would destroy this guy ..I just dont want to read people accusing ginger of "ducking" a man who is not even on his level

Doesn't matter if Lara wins or loses, he deserves a shot at Canelo.

Thank you thank you thank you Richard Schaefer. Thank you for saying all the things all the losers gave me red karma and mocked me for saying on the photo thread for the fight. It made me sick the way they were celebrating. It was pathetic. Know when you are lucky and just be gracious about it. I'm not taking anything away from Lara, but show some class and only allow people around you who have class. You know it was a disgusting display when your promoter talks **** about it publicly.

This is discouraging. These guys need to stop looking at Cuban fighters as tough sells and start putting in the time and effort that they do with clowns like Khan, Canelo, and Berto. I'm sure that Rigo, Lara, Matthysse -- all these guys that don't speak a lick of English have really intriguing back stories that can interest the casual sports fan. Pathetic. If these so called promoters think they're the goods, prove it.

Money does NOT fight like El Oro de Guantanamo...not even close so that is an unfair comparison.

Hard to sell or not doesn't mean you have to neglect the guy. You had him fighting in Missi-fkin-ssippi not to long ago. WTF is a Cuban doing fighting over there?

The cubans have compelling stories, and they have been profiled. We have heard about Gamboa's gold medal being sold or Lara's dramatic defection. The issue with those guys being tough sells is not their background, it's their lackluster style. Matthysse is a different animal though, promoting and demographics might have a bit to do with it, but he isn't overly popular even in his native Argentina.
