I wouldn't be surprised if this was true, Showtime spent a lot of money marketing a fight with a relatively unknown Guerrero and his insane father. Guerrero's a good fighter however, there wasn't a hunger amongst boxing fans to see this fight, what really brings in the cash are the casual fans, the people that float around the periphery of the game hoping for a show.
Floyd by himself can draw in fans, but what fans want to see is Floyd in a struggle or in with someone that can in "theory" present a challenge. His last PPV didn't do well, it may have done over a million but that wasn't enough to satisfy all of the interests involved. Floyd is going to have to take on a lot of "tough" challenges to make his contract mutually beneficial, because right now the contract is on course to satisfy one guy, Mayweather.
