If Simon Brown and Maurice Blocker can fight each other as De Leon and Mares have...surely Matthysse-Maidana can fight each other. Don't worry about the a$$holes who try to say otherwise. They can be friends after the fight. It's a fight the fans want to see, and they can make money. They aren't brothers. Brothers/Blood shouldn't fight each other.

      yes your right...

But i am talking about both men....

They both are coming off great performances...

BAck when maidana was super hype, lucas wasnt well known yet....

Right now all the stars have lined up, with maidan winning to slugfests in a row, and lucas just destroying peterson...

This fight will get made to protect danny garcia from lucas

Maidana was part of a very successful card. I don't know what his purse was for the fight yesterday, but on the Canelo-Lopez undercard he made 250k (the most he had ever made up to that point).

So, what I'm trying to say is that he can still get HUGE purses as a co-feature, and there is no shame in that. I think it is, sometimes, superior to having your own card (i.e. Matthysse vs. Peterson). Bigger draw = bigger exposure. Usually, that also means pretty big money. In fact Maidana made more money that Lopez did in the Canelo fight.

I'd love to see Matthyse vs. Maidana, but not before Matthyse fights Garcia.

There is no rush for Mathyse vs Maidana. Matthyse vs Garcia needs to be made now.

Throwing Maidana's name inn the mix is just a way of trying to get Garcia off the hot seat and get him off the hook.

Real boxing fans know the truth, and that Matthyse vs Garcia is the fight that needs to be made!

I don't care to see it. You can tell they don't really care to fight each other, although they would never say it. I mean they met when they were 10 or 12 and traveled around in a ****ty van to fight and train, and slept in places of poverty. They progressed as fighters and men together, and now everyone wants them to fight. I don't care to see it.

He made 550k vs Khan. He's made more then 250k in other fights also.

According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan will make $975,000 for his fight with mandatory challenger Marcos Maidana on Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. This reflects Khan's purse in US money only - and does not include the money he receives for the UK television rights or any of sponsorship money. Maidana will receive $550,000.

GBP probably knows a thing or two fans like us dont know, like Danny Garcia telling them there's no way in hell he's fighthing Lucas Matthysse.
So now GBP has to find some huge crazy fight to make the ducking go away.
I say ****k that and give us the damn Matthysse vs Garcia fight already GBP promised.
                  Stop protecting Danny already.
No, I dont want a Matthysse vs Maidana fight, I want Lucas against Danny.

Why is showtime so adamant on shoving this fight down our throats right away? Sidenote: Anyone notice maidana didnt come out to any entrance music? just straight up walked into the ring with no music lmao
It's to get the focus off of a Matthysse-Garcia fight.
