I don't understand how Khan survived against Maidana.

That didn't help, but Chino wasn't in the best of shape either. Not to mention training. Compare the sharpness and crispness to present day. He was about 2-3 times slower and nearly everything was looping or telegraphed.

Modern Maidana leaves a piece of Khan's chin on the ringpost

Might be some bandwagoners, though I notice the Maidana haters are mostly staying to form. If anything ppl that were already fans of Chino have gotten more vocal.

Oh and I been a fan of Maidana since way back

Same for Devon. Now he's sharper, and in much better shape for the fights. He's in his functional prime as of now.

Oh and in a rematch, this Maidana slaughters either version of Khan.
Khan fights at a fast pace. Maidana tried to match it and simply gets tired.

The maidana from last night knocks either version of Khan silly. Pure and simple. If yall don't see the conditioning and technical difference in present day Maidana from the Maidana in the Khan fight, that's yall problem

It's not easy winning a handicapped match.

Had Maidana knocked out Khan, Joe would have hit him with a steel chair and laid Khan's lifeless corpse on top of him and counted, declaring Khan the winner.

And since when was his training an excuse? To be honest, Maidana's arsehole was still falling out whenever Lopez hit him to the body. He looked exactly the same, he just got a very favourable stoppage. Lopez was tagging his ass all night.

No he was on his way to severely hurting Lopez. Lopez had to be saved from himself. Whether stopped there or a few seconds later wouldn't have made a difference, the ref just saved Lopez some punishment.

As for training, you confuse that with conditioning I guess. The two primary factors were training and conditioning. Maidana a has a nice jab but he didn't use it well against Khan. He looped his punches, was slower, and smothered his own hooks and uppercuts when Khan was covered up. As opposed to recently he gets great leverage on his punches because he is more aware of keeping the proper distance, which is gauged by either the jab or the straight right to set up the overhand. Maidan a sets up better now, defends better, and has better power and speed. It's really night and day the only thing identical is his unconquerable will and warrior's heart.

Anyone that doesn't see the difference can't analyze the fights, or fighters, well at all. Best listen to what the announcers and compubox tell you, at least they are somewhat on the money at times. Then again, other times...

When you say he's looked better "recently", you mean when he's been up against lesser fighters who suit his style?
