Numerous reasons, the ref was getting involved way too much & Maidana at that point was pretty gassed, he got a some energy back when he hurt Khan but not enough.
If he had hurt Khan in the 2nd or 3 rounds, it would've been over.
khan had tired maidana out enough so that he couldnt really hit top gear when khan was finally hurt, also everytime iv seen khan really hurt its with a left hook he doesnt see coming, i think its more of a techniqual weakness than bad chin, i agree with the guy that said its his recovery powers to clear his head and his legs that are his weakness.
True but also Khan was at his physical peak in terms of condition.
He had Ariza who trained him exceptionally well. Look at the snap in Khan's shots compared to how soft they are VS Julio Diaz. I think it is safe to say that he must be draining himself to make 140. Brother ****m commented on how big he was etc...
THat's the best you've seen of Khan, and not the best Maidana. Besides that, Khan caught him with that early kidney shot that weakened Maidana a lot.

The ref got in the way every time Maidana moved in to end it.
Yes, it was pretty obvious, shameful. The ref stopped Maidana when he was about to KO Khan. The ref. acted at times as if he was breaking up a bar fight or something. Its box, the idea is that if one guy cant hold up on his own he loses and thats that.
