Why, because then it wouldn't fit into your argument?
no. based on an inability to keep playing. its like a sprained ankle. in some ases it doesn't prevent a player from palying in other instances-like a high ankle sprain-it does.

I probably should've worded that last paragraph differently. I'll take the l on it.

yeah that didn't read the way it should have. I'll deal with the blowback.

      • The fight didn't go the full 12, the corner, doctor, or ref didn't stop it. There was no KO, TKO, or TD.

Angulo chose to not continue the fight; he quit. The only thing to argue is could/should he have continued. Probably not.

But clearly, he chose to not continue fighting.

        • Angulo pussed out just like Ortiz did in the Maidana fight. I'm done with both of those cowards. I hope they both retire and never step foot in the ring again... heartless bastards!

It turns out that no bones were broken after all, he just felt like quitting! Here's a quote from Angulo himself "I have undergone various medical examinations which I am glad to report revealed no broken bones" SMDH!

            Remember to only take 2.

Thank Christ nobody got injured in that one.
That last paragraph I wrote didn't read as I wanted it. I will gladly take all the jokes and the heat.

Relative to playing hurt and playing injured I dont think you can compete when injured but can when you are hurt. In theat vein-Margs and Abraham may not have been injured to the degree that they couldn't perform where ortiz and angulo were.

Nice way to try and spin it so that it works within your argument.

Abraham had a broken jaw, his mouth was locked open with blood gushing out of it.

Yeah... THey also MAY HAVE been injured but fought through it anyway.

Actually, no... there is no may have... that's what happened.

I'm not spinning it. My whole argument has been that similair injuries affect people differently. for some, you are right, they can perform through it. but just because one fighter does it you can't say every fighter can.

Abraham told the ref he didn't want to fight but his corner made him continue. He didn't fight thru it as gallantly as you are implying.

                  • Just read that angulo's doctor said he had no broken bones. SO any points I've made regarding orbital fractures is moot. I thought the break was discovered fight night.

You are right, therefore some fighters quit, and some don't.

I don't care what his corner told him or what Abraham said... He fought 6 rounds with a broken jaw against Edison Miranda. He never turned his back away from his opponent and said "**** it".
