So instead of fighting JuanMa, he fought Solis, while JuanMa was being "Protected" fighting Salido, got it.

        We already knew this.

They refused to put Juanma in there with Gamboa because he was a money-maker that Gamboa would have demolished. Gamboa instead smacked up whoever they were willing to put in there.

They instead put Juanma in with Salido, who Gamboa had just beat, and he got stopped....and in the rematch. Hindsight tells them they should have cashed him out against Gamboa instead.

Twisting words around to your own convenience again. Juanma fought Salido after Gamboa had already ran thru him. It was obvious Arum thought Juanma would do the same and wanted them to have ANOTHER opponent in common before facing each other hence the bs scorecards.

Mikey was another Top Rank protected fighter. The dude was protected for damn near 30 fights.

It wasn't to have an opponent in common, JuanMa fought Salido because Gamboa was already locked in with Solis. So JuanMa took the next best thing at the time which was Salido to stay busy, JuanMa may be a lot things, but "PROTECTED" is the last thing he is.

Gamboa is right, Top rank should have made the juanma-yuri fight instead of juanma-salido..
The guys were in their prime both undefeated and would have been a shoot-out with both guys stock rising no matter who won..

How long was Top rank going to let it marinade,, both guys were very well known to fans and neither guy was going to hit that next level of superstardom without a fight like this... It had been built up since 2008,09,10,11
I think Top rank dropped the ball...

I would still like to see this fight since both leave themselves wide open and both throw bombs...

Gamboa just needs to stay active, he has no time to waste

I think that was a fight Arum tried to pressure him to take by offering him a lot of money, but how ****** would he have been to take that fight with Rios? He's about to have his first fight at 135lb in 2013. If he fought Rios at the time he would have been jumping from 126lb to 135lb (two weight classes) to fight a undefeated (at the time) Knockout artist. That's ******.. That would be like Mayweather jumping from 147lb to 160lb to fight GGG or Kid Chocolate

I thought he fought on the Pac-Marquez undercard?

                    What are they talking about?
Top Rank gave Gamboa a big fight against Rios, and he punked out of the fight.

The reason he isn't getting any fights is because he angered Top Rank, with his antics, and his promoter 50 cent had a verbal feud with Mayweather and Golden Boy. Basically he pi$$ed on the two biggest companies in boxing and is complaining that they want nothing to do with him.

Did Arum pressure him into bringing up Rios' name in public, too? S'far as I remember, he was the one who requested that fight in the first place.
