I've mentioned it before and I'll mention it again. If Alvarez ignores the catchweight agreement, IT WOULDN'T BE THE FIRST TIME. He was supposed to fight the almighty WELTERWEIGHT Matthew Hatton at 151lbs and came in at 153lbs. Mayweather isn't the only one who has form for this kind of behaviour.

Acknowledge it and stop hoping for the fight to fall through just so you can say "I told you so". I mean, what kind of boxing fan does that?

Canelo should pull a Floyd just for the hilarity that would ensue.

Floyd won't pull out for risk of losing all that money and he won't complain for risk of looking like a complete fool.

Then again maybe he would complain. It wouldn't be the first time he's made himself look foolish.

Reason why is when floyd wins they can still market canelo as great..

Csn claim he was weight drainned etc.
        100% FALSE

FLOYD wanted 147, and then 150. they negotiated at 152.

Golden Boy wanted the fight at 154, Floyd wanted 147. stop spreading misinformation you fucking flomo

Canelo did that against Matthew Hatton? Didn't know that. It wouldn't alter the fight anyway he would probably have to either give up some money or a rehydration clause we be re-worked into his contract.

Oh yes it did happen and most people with an agenda either wilfully ignore it or didn't do their homework.

I don't know if the motivation for this thinking is because Mayweather didn't meet his agreed weight against Marquez or because of the catchweight in itself. But hoping for something that could scupper the fight we all asked for is just plain petty and not inkeeping with being a boxing fan, in my opinion.

They don't usually cancel fights at the last minute. Canelo can weigh in at 154 if he's willing to pay the fine. I reckon it must be huge. Question is how huge.

Floyd never requested for 147 against Canelo, it was his Dad - Floyd Snr. - flying a kite unauthorized, without him ever being a promoter, without him making the offer to anyone (just like Roach was fond of doing for Pac,) and GBP promptly dismissed that misadventure / misdemeanor by Floyd Snr. So you're the blatant liar spreading misinformation, blinded by hate. SMH.

In any case, it was Canelo that originally called out Floyd, saying he would fight Floyd at 150. Should Floyd have accepted now? Probably not, but Floyd has consistently demonstrated that he is a businessman first and foremost, so no surprise he'll chose to follow the path of least resistance to money if offered. Technically, you can't knock a man for that.

Canelo made his bed, so shall he lie on it. In fact, he's lucky he's getting away with 152. Deal with it.

Does anybody know how much the fine would be for every pound over the catch weight?
Also does that mean floyd also has to come in at 152lbs or can he get away with being below that weight?

There hasn't been anything mentioned but there usually is a 10% penalty that is split between the opponent and the state.
