The fight would go on, Alvarez would forfeit part of his purse and Mayweather would still whip his ass from pillar to post.

Floyd doesn't need the money, there's nothing stopping him cancelling it. He strikes me as just the kind of guy who would do this, just to make a point for the future that he calls the shots.

So you think Canelo can win weighing 172 on fight night?

              X2

If he has the will to risk the payday, he might actually be dangerous to Floyd.

Were that to occur and coming right after the good win over a very solid opponent, some fans (myself among them) might begin to calculate that this is no longer a kid being run, but a young man making moves.

If Canelo comes in at 154lb they will first tell him to try and sweat of the weight. If he still comes in over the limit then he will probably be fined and Mayweather's camp would probably insist on a rehydration limit.

yeah, I'm curious about the possibility of penalties as well.

I highly doubt that Canelo will have trouble getting those 2 extra pounds off otherwise he wouldn't agree to it. 150 was the sticking point and that was smart. If Canelo makes the 152 limit, then he's probably going to be in the best shape of his life.

I'm hoping so much that this happens. Please, Saul Alvarez, ignore the catchweight and come in at 154.
