At his age of 23 years old, losing an additional two pounds shouldn't be a deal-breaker. If he was to violate that catchweight clause of the contract they'd still conduct the fight at 155lbs or so - its no problem really but Mayweather would be contractual entitled to more $$$ as a penalty. I doubt cutting two more pounds is really going to alter the dynamics of Alvarez's training camp - just begin your diet regimen earlier; you have about 3.5 months and again at his age what's two pounds?

Its so true. I really don't have much of a problem with the fight being at 152. It's just that Mayweather talked so much **** about Pacquiao fighting Cotto at 2 lbs less than the weltrwt limit - and now he's doing the same exact thing.
The weight shouldn't impact the fight that much in my opinion (although a pro boxer im good friends with believes otherwise)

Oh, and if you have a rehydration clause, you have an official weigh in on fight night, and if you are over the opponent doesn't have to fight, so you are wrong.
Has this ever happened before? And if so how did the crowd react?

I was very happy about this fight happening but the news about Floyd draining Canelo came and it ruined it. Ellerbe said himself, those two pounds that Cotto had to shed made him a "dead man walking" so I assume they are keeping the same stance on Canelo. Unfortunately I will not pay to watch a dead man walking drained Canelo.

The IBF has a re-hydration clause in its title fights of 10lbs. You can draw up a contract to do/say anything... if both parties agree, then it is binding.

To my knowledge, a fight has not gone through because of one, however.

First off i will state that im a Floyd fan...

About weight: Honestly, who cares, both men have agreed to something, end of story... all you guys over here never laced a glove in your life so you have no idea what these men are doing...

About the fight: I'm not happy Floyd accepted this fight because the risk is huge and history shows that the best boxers started losing wen they had to strech themselves to please fans... at the end of the day, there not the same size, thats why the sport has weight limits...

About the outcome: Even tho im extremely nervous about Floyd losing, I don't think Canelo has what it takes to beat Floyd, he can punch hard, ill give him that, he seems to have some sense of defence as he showed against Trout but be clear, i had him losing the Trout fight, those judges where crooked in my opinion because Canelo got worked from rounds 4 to 12, he gased and was not even throwing punches anymore, sure he caught Trout in the 7th but thats about it... And that open scoring, wow!

Dont be surprised: For all you fans that keep praying Floyd loses, don't be surprised if Canelo dont look like a shell of himself, there will be drug testing in this fight so you might see what youve been seing for the past couple of fights Mayweather has been in, guys that dont look right...

Many boxers like Garcia and Trout said it, Canelo is too big for Floyd, I don't like this fight for that exact reason...
