    • Last time floyd fought a southern california based fighter of mexican heritage with an 11 city press tour the fight sold 2.44 mil.

WHile I dont think the fight sells that much, I can't wait for the manny fans in this thread to start calling fat dan a liar and a flowmo when he reports the fight sells more than 2 mil.

          • I really don't understand why so many people are criticizing floyd for being a hypocrite towards this catchweight issue. People are acting as if this is the first time floyd has done this. How many times has he promised a war against his opponents and has done the complete opposite? Just like somone said on a previous post, until the fight haters said that Floyd would never fight Canelo. Now that he is they find something else to latch on to instead of them saying they were wrong. I bet if Floyd fought him at 154 they would still find something.

Hate him or love him Floyd is the best fighter of this era. People hate that he is arrogant and ****y but why shouldn't he be. He is considered the best fighter in the world and at 36 years old is still undefeated. I just laugh when people say fighters are washed up and done by the time floyd fights them. But before the fight that opponent is dubbed the man to beat him. Whats it gonna take for you haters to realize that he just good at what he does. He embarasses opponents that others would struggle against. Thats not cherry picking, thats skill. To take an opponent out of his comfort zone and make him gun shy is phenominal. Name another fighter who has done that better then Floyd, nobody.

Name another fighter who is more committed to his craft then Mayweather, nobody. And I wish people would stop bringing up his personal stuff. What he does out of the ring has nothing to do with it. He's not the only fighter that has made mistakes or done anything wrong. I just don't understand it. Thats why I feel that people on this site are not real boxing fans. To criticize a guy for moving around alot and "pot shotting" and being defensive minded is crazy. Thats what boxing is. Sitting there getting your head bashed in is not boxing. If you want to see that watch MMA. We have one of the most skilled fighters doing his thing, who has broken records and even attracted people who are not even true fans of the sport to watch. I know alot of people who aren't fans but they know who Floyd is and only watch when he fights.

In closing stop the hating. He is the best in this era, deal with it. Its not his fault his opponents can't beat him. He is just doing his job which is to train hard and win. If you going to be angry at someone, be angry at the opponent that let you down and didnt do their job, which is to beat Floyd Mayweather

I agree but he is the best challenge for him at 147 or 154. This sucks because will get criticized once again when he wins. Haters will always find an excuse instead of giving him his just due.

maybe on paper but i really cant agree with it... lucas maythysse is who i want floyd to fight.. stylewise i think petersen present more threat to floyd than canelo ( yeah he just got koed but floyd aint no mathysee when it comes to hurting people)... so does bradley ...the only thing floyd has to worry about is canelo's power, thats it ...

Using Floyd's own words. Floyd picked a young, relatively inexperienced fighter who is another flat-footed fighter who has less skills and chance than Cotto had last year yet unlike Cotto fight, required a CW. Now add the fact that Canelo has stamina issues with a low work-rate.

Just look at the interviews of Floyd, his trainer and the rest of Floyd's team. They are saying what we are saying. Are they hating on Floyd?

It's boxing and Canelo can hit. So he has a punchers chance but the odds are not good at this point. He has too many issues to fix and some he may never resolve.

I thought mathysee was a junior welter. When I say 147 or 154 I mean fighters who actually campaign at that weight. I wouldn't worry too much about Canelos power because of Floyd's defense. If he applies the same defense he did against Guerrero, which I'm pretty sure he will, it will be tough for Canelo. Lets not forget about Canelo's tendency to gas out. Will he really be able to chase Floyd around for 12 rounds? Bradley will bring the fight to Floyd but his come forward style will play right into his counter punching. Thats why I think Canelo is the best challenge. He may be slower but he has power and can box. I still think he loses mainly because of his stamina
